Got the truck running by using an aux pump and removing the filters, USB/aux plug installed, mic installed, and camera wire hooked up to radio. But didn't get the camera hole drilled or installed yet. Hopefully tomorrow I can remove the borrowed alternator from my truck and maybe replace the plug as well.

Hey question, did/are you running the reverse trigger(purple IIRC?) from the radio into the reverse lights or what?
I bought a camera to put on my wife's truck and I am debating to run it on a switch to see back there while going down the road pulling the boat trailer or wire it up as normal.

A dp/dt switch will work for this. Run an acc power wire to one side and the purple wire to the other. Bridge the trigger wire to the stereo/monitor from one side to the other. With the switch in one position, the camera will be on all the time, the opposite position will activate when in reverse and the center position the camera will be off.

Thanks buddy, this is right along with what I was thinking but handnt thought about setting it up to work as normal with a reverse trigger and on demand. Good idea.

Pressure washer out, Ex on ramps and removed the mud from last trip up country. Also washed exterior when mud removed then full interior clean - vacuum, wash, and spot clean carpet.

Looks as good as it can for 16 year old Ex.

Good looking truck there. Gave my old girl a bath and some new headlights. I got tired trying to keep the haze off of the old ones.
My next project... My first car. 1994 GT. Trying to get it back on the road after I hit a deer and ditch 15 years ago. It has been mostly sitting since, sadly.

Nice Ex, GT looks like a fun project. I'm working on a 76 F150 for my project vehicle

Learned to always double check work. Got this newest 6.0. For a steal cause it had a stuck open injector. Replaced all 8. A job I've done a couple a handful of times now. Did all the updates to the hpop and what not.

Started it. After test drive. Still missing and heavy diesel smell from exhaust.

Code fir cyl 1 contribution.

Tested compression
Tried a different injector.

No change

Turns out when putting it together from pictures i took of disassembly. They had injector 1 and 3 plugs swapped.

Swapped them to correct position. And boom runs perfect now.

Moral of the story. Always double check someone's work when you get something that was broken first

Finally broke down and purchased new Edge EAS EGT probe to replace one that has been intermittent on my Ex (getting close to hunting season and pulling trailer - must have working again). Also purchased one for wife's Ex to go with parts being gathered for it to do necessary 6.0 upgrades

I did the power-fold mirror anti-mod.
Meaning, I crunched the passenger side power fold mirror against a light pole, and power fold works, but they won’t fold out with power. I HATE city driving. I pulled forward into a red zone to let a car leave, so I could park in his spot. Some idiot pulled up, and was trying to grab my spot, so I was focusing on the driver mirror, and didn’t see the pole that crunched the other side. It fared well, and I snapped the cap on, and the glass back in. But now I gotta wait till I have……ahem, make the time (when the truck isn’t on a job) to try to fix it.

Finally got around to putting in the new stereo in the truck. ATOTO A6 Pro. Only had it for 6 months on the shelf. The cops are really getting aggressive about the hands free stuff while driving. So it was time.
Got the dash out and pulled the factory radio in about 30 minutes. Thought I had the wiring harness adapter never bought it. So 4 days to get it here and get it soldered up.
Took an hour of figuring out the mounting kit, but I got everything in and it works. Except that I didn't consider how to hook up the steering wheel controls for the radio. So that's next, but probably after hunting season. Next is shocks, and then tires.

Installed new Edge EAS EGT on truck - now it is ready for towing and hunting season. Also nice to know temp before shutting off instead of sitting for awhile and assuming it has cooled enough.

Also lubricated drivers door window slides and found a wire harness that was not properly attached and most likely interfering with window operation. Most likely the reason window had an odd "jump" at same spot when opening/closing the window. Window nice and smooth now.

I did not. That probably would've helped though. I have power at the rear for the camera but I have to manually turn my reverse camera on in order to see it.

I could've sworn that I saw people talking about upgrading solenoids last year some time. Not that I necessarily want to do that, just want to get my thoughts/facts in order.

Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
There's a few places that still sell 'upgraded' solenoids. I have a hiccup in my shifts before the torque converter locks in. No slippage, just a really hard hitting hiccup. Could also be a dirty screen, but the thought is when I tune up my truck, the stock solenoids can't push the volume of fluid needed.
