I'm pretty sure I passed that hill today on my drive from Tuscon to Vegas. Then again, I passed a lot of hills today.
If you drove up 60 by Wickenburg, you very well have might have seen it off in the distance. You driving across country now?

Recharged the ac for the 2nd time this summer. Only lasts about a month. My son drives it so I'm not too concerned. He can help pay for it if he wants it fixed. By the way Ford was ahead of their time with the kung flu hook.

Yep, 60 out of Phoenix then hit 93 in Wickenburg. 30th Anniversary trip to Vegas. Tried to go see "the Dam" today, but it's closed. WTF, casinos, restaurants, etc. are open, but the fricking Hoover Dam is closed. That's just stupid. Drove 2000 miles to wear a mask everywhere and not be able to see things like that really sucks. Google doesn't say anything about it being closed, but it's been closed since March. I'm hoping the Grand Canyon is still viewable. I'm about tired of this B.S. they keep feeding us about the virus. Check the numbers, you can't make any of them work together. Only separately.

We certainly have more than enough extra BS floating around. I wonder how history will view this event? Suppose that depends on who is writing the history....

If the Grand Canyon is closed, you may be able to view the glass walkover since that is managed by the Indians and not the National Park Service. I honestly don’t know where that entrance is and it is not marked very good, Its supposed to be pricey, including not being able to drive there yourself and taking a bus.

Had a student visit the Grand Canyon South Rim at Grand Canyon City a few weeks ago, but don’t know if its open still.

I don't know why you have to be 18 to look at mt son's and his girlfriend's face mask.
I think the misguided censor bot pulled that image because those face mask are made by a bikini MFG that is helping to fill the face mask gap ;-)

From what I've gathered, the south entrance is open but pretty much all services, including buses, are closed. So if you want to hike a few miles you can probably still see the canyon, but I'm not up for that after 4 days in Vegas. We may drive back by there, but there will not be a lot a walking involved.

Broke the *#&%ing drivers rear window out of my truck taking my tonneau cover of . Now the solid tonneau is a folding hard tonneau.
Does anyone know if I can just replace that piece of glass?

Installed my synthetic winch rope. Polished the drum a bit with a flapper wheel, changed to a hawse fairlead. So much easier than reinstalling the wire rope. Used the Fast Fid to splice it, works really nice. 20200715_154251.jpg 20200715_154633.jpg

Starting from a quick buff job on the spool to make sure there were no sharp spots to cut the rope, maybe an hour. Maybe 10 minutes to splice the eye, since it was my first time. Next time I would tape the end of the rope before putting the wire pull on, to make it slide a little better

If bought the rope like that you can reheat the tip so it’s soft and mold it to a taper with hot gloves so the end bulb will not protrude. The same if you do the cut and heat yourself.

Gave the old gal a bath and wiped down the inside. I now have a blue truck again! It's amazing how clear and crisp the gauges look once you remove the protective dust layer LOL 😆

Drove it to go look at a horse trailer upgrade. Not quite what we want sot the search continues. Picked up some ethanol free gas for the boat so I can go fishing tomorrow. Washed it for the first time in a month...now it's raining.
