A little off-shoot from the "What did you do to your 6.0 today?" mega thread.
Very simple idea here, show what you bought for your 6.0 today.

Today was an expensive one for me:
-Upper and lower balljoints, both sides
-Center links
-NUC Oil by-pass filter kit
-Couple bottles of Archoil

Looking forward to posting install photos in the "What did you do to your 6.0 today?" thread.

Got some smoked tailights in today. Since tinting the factory lens didn't hold up. Perfect time to install them since its dark.

I've got some of them smoked lenses too.

Need to get headlight and tail light smoked housings yet though.

Bought a BlueTop steering box yesterday, and bought a Leece Neville 230a alternator today.

I've got the smoked headlights. They look great on the truck but the only bad thing is that they cut soo much of the light output. I need some good and brite led bulbs for them.

Which ones did you buy and from where? How do you like them one the truck?
I got them and the headlights both from dtmoto on fleabay. They seem to be built well and fit good. I think I gave $120 for the headlights and $130 for the tails and third light.

I didnt go with smoked, though it might look good in keeping with my monochromatic black and white theme...
anyways i have had excellent luck with the eagle eye lights off flea bay :thumb:
even got a set for the wifes caddy and they are way nicer than the stock ones better pattern more efficient etc. very pleased with them...
but i am going to have to get led bulbs at some point for the truck headlights at least
and that is without smoked lenses just my new led fogs are so damn bright they make the headlights utterly useless :look:
so in the interest of ballance i need to get some at some point. and still need to get the stock turn on the drivers side to work  and maybe a new set at some point...
but that would be AFTER i get the new leather on my seats

and those smoked lenses look good on the black trucks :thumb:
i just could never keep a black truck here...
one of my neighbors and good friends has a new dodge black but he spemds mpst of his time in the city down south where it stays clean.
he gets here and his truck is filthy from day one until he heads back down the hill

it is hard with the truck but i try to use cruise control
way cheaper and less time consuming than traffic school
weirdest thing for me is the truck tends to suddenly punch it to get back to speed if it drops by 2 mph ...
i think that has to do with looney and an increase in horse power the ecm is unaware of :look:
Same here on the fogs, I drive by them more than my headlights right now. And I can't keep a black truck clean either. Gets washed constantly and still looks dirty as soon as I drive into my driveway. Which is only about 300'

Thinking about getting this for mine. It's dirt cheap. I prefer Mobil 1. But ain't got mobil 1 money right now. What y'all think?

The delo is fine. That's all I used in my 7.3 and the first oil change in my 04. Being that you're in a warmer climate than me there shouldnt be any issues with it. Other than it won't last as long as the 5-40. If you had to start the ex under 30* I'd say stay away from it.

Are you referring to just the bulbs or a complete new headlight and taillight assembly?
I was interested in just getting LED bulbs for the rear but I'm concerned about the fast flash nonsense with turn signals and I also don't want it to look like a lowered honda civic.
thank you.
I did just bulbs at first and smoked the stock lens on my 04. I eventually did the housings front and rear. The resistors at each corner you have leds in will work but they're a pita and will fail eventually. If you decide to do led housings they will have built in resistors. But the point I was getting to is you don't need resistors at all. Just change the flasher relay out to an ep27 led relay. Easy to get at the auto parts store or online and just as easy to change. It changed positions over the years but on a 6.0 truck it will be just under the radio and to the left. Reach up past the obd port and you'll feel a plastic cover you need to pull off and the relay is under it. Pro tip...have your turn signal on so you can feel the relay click to help in locating it. Or just watch a video on YouTube.

Personally I don't feel that my truck looks like a lowered Honda, even if it is lowered.

My block heater cord got here today. Spent about 20 minutes after dinner trying to figure out how it's routed. I'll get it on in the morning when I can see better.
Got the first bid on my new shop  I need to get a couple more. This guy said $23k for a 32'x48'x14' pole building with 3 10'x8' doors and a standard man door. That doesn't include site prep or concrete (or the gravel, foam insulation and 1500' of pex that goes under the concrete). I started looking at steel buildings after he left, if I go with steel I can probably do 12' walls since it wouldn't have trusses in the way of my lift, I need 13' for that.
I really hate to drop that much on a building when I need a new roof on the barn too. Plus the outdoor woodburner is going to be another $10k. I need some of @j.mo 's money :)
Damn that sounds cheap compared to here. My buddy just put up a shop last fall for $45k. 30x40, 16' walls. 2x6 studs and a 14x14 door with opener. With concrete. Connected to his existing shop. And re did the roof on the old shop to match the new one. Unfinished inside. Doing a pole barn would have been just as much. I don't have the best pics of it but u get the idea.

actually i was regurgitating something mhatlan had said :D
but it sounds like dorman actually makes a better power side than ford did
It looks like it should so we shall see.

Not sure I like being the guinea pig though.

And @mhatlen had said that you had the board and was doing well. Now I'm not sure I can believe either of you. Lol

Ya I gave $2800 used for my wheels and tires. And they was like new, maybe 2500 miles. The tires alone will be over 3k to replace when times come. They wouldn't be as much to replace if they weren't on 24" wheels. Since we're talking about them I'll show them off a bit. They will last awhile because I take those ishes off for the winter and run the old 38's.

New to having an account here, but not new to this site at all but got a 2004 6.0 f-250 with a 4" lift and 35" bfgs in august and last night I finally got fuel filters and the trans filter with about 7 quarts of mercum. I also got some 75 140 because I am putting back the 3.73's because I have 4.56's in it now and I'm tired of getting 11 mpg average in town and maybe 13 highway.
Where you located at? I'd love to get a set of 4.56's instead of my 3.73's so I can get better than 8-9 mpg. I'm also over twice your height and 40" tires.

Hey man I’m located in St Robert Missouri basically the middle of Missouri but I regularly go to Kansas City and have family in Southwest Kansas so if you are within 6 hours of here or basically anywhere in Kansas let me know I’m willing to meet for a decent deal I also have a set of 4.10s
Ya I'm in Idaho. Don't think I'll be anywhere close to you anytime soon.

Remade my sub box so now it is to spec and not oversized and ordered a cheap amp to hold me over while I can get the funds for something better
I forgot to get back on the other night and post about that. I was gonna suggest either crutchfield or Amazon if you wanna get stuff online. I prefer to hit a stereo shop. They usually have a couple different brands that are decent quality and price. Or go crazy on the expensive ish.

I'm not really to partial to any particular brand. But you definitely wanna stay away from high watt low cost amps. They will use alot of power and run hot. Not to mention not the best sound quality. Granted for bass that won't be as critical but you should be able to get a decent amp with good power for under $200.

I have a JL 500 watt mono amp for my subs and an Alpine 400 watt 4 channel amp for my components in the 03. My subs are Kicker comp R shallow 10's. I need a larger amp to get the most out of the subs but it sounds well. The box is a custom built sealed unit. The components are Memphis audio.

If you're going from gold to ELC, don't forget to get lots of distilled to rinse that crap out. Proper flush is prolly in order, hard to do it right this time of year, at least fill N drain with distilled as many times as possible. Don't use a harsh chemical flush either, that's a good way to trash a good oil cooler. IMO
Is there something more to using distilled water other than no minerals? I only ask because I hadn't read about the proper procedure when I got my truck years back and just used tap water. Granted I'm on a well and have multi stage filters to keep things out of my piping and fixtures. I could used softened water also but I figure that's just adding salt.

So far so good on my 04. My 03 still needs changed over to elc. But it was good temps so I want to avoid making it worse. Makes sense to do the distilled at the end.

My Suzuki hayabusa required distilled. Same with my wife's escalade. But both of those have all aluminum engines also.

I get distilled water by the gallon from wally-world for something like 68 cents each. Well worth it.
And water through a water softner does not add salt to the water, the brine is used to backflush/clean the filter material used in the water softner.
They have it for sale at a grocery store here for .48 cent a gallon right now. I was mainly asking because if was that important I was going to plan on doing a flush to the 04 when I changed over the 03.

I guess I should have said sodium. I was just thinking that you normally wouldn't want to drink softened water without the sodium removed first. Usually by distilling it or something like reverse osmosis. So I just assumed it's putting stuff in the water I don't want in it.

I'm sorry for your pain @john galt. Hot and cold are easy for me. Hot is softened but right inside the shop door.

Today i bought a TechSmart FICM power supply from advanced auto parts for $118(with a 30% discount code). FICM voltage dropping recently and figured its time to replace it. my truck has 150k miles on it.
I just did my 04 a few weeks back. Made a huge difference. I didn't get mine quite so cheap. I was $150 with $20 off at Oreily's. Mine was from Dorman.
