A little off-shoot from the "What did you do to your 6.0 today?" mega thread.
Very simple idea here, show what you bought for your 6.0 today.

Today was an expensive one for me:
-Upper and lower balljoints, both sides
-Center links
-NUC Oil by-pass filter kit
-Couple bottles of Archoil

Looking forward to posting install photos in the "What did you do to your 6.0 today?" thread.

What part of Idaho? Other than eastern of course
Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Twin falls this trip (gonna sneak over the border to see old faithful while we're in the neighborhood)
The G/F is really liking Rexburg, I would rather be down towards to Pocatello, of course north eastern Utah hasn't been ruled out
All the areas of Arizona that won't cook you alive in the summer (Prescott) are being over run by stooped Californians and that's pissing off the locals

There's some nice country down there.

I'd like to get into northern Idaho, from Post Falls north. I used to live in Mead, wa. Just north of Spokane, kinda a suburb of Spokane I guess. I'd like it there again, other than Wa is a welfare state just like Cali now. I have my dad's place over in north central Wa, but that's way too rural for the misses
Of course, state run liquor stores might be the scale tipper to wherever we end up
four weeks till wheels up to check out eastern Idaho (apologies in advance to Idahoans) on the next leg of our retirement relocation reconnaissance tour
Everybody keeps wanting to come to Idaho. Ya know its not all that great, lol.

Ive only lived on the west end of the state but been back east alot. They get way worse winters than we do. I dont think its near as crowded back east either. Atleast not with out of state transplants. Its horrible around here.

For me, even with how much has changed the last 10-15 years, id still rather be on this side of the state.

That's not that big a deal if you're close to a border town. They do sell liquor in the stores in Wa now, but with a huge sin tax. The state run one's aren't that bad to deal with though, just have to get used to their hours.
I used to bootleg a couple cases of crown royal when I'd make a trip to Cali, or a bottle or two of ever clear from Montana

Nothing set in stone yet, my issue with the west side of Idaho is that when Commiefornians invade they just kinda fall over the state line and settle in, the winterier winters might make us look elsewhere (and state run liquor stores)but we'll never know until we see it for ourselves

If we end up in that area the inlaws better be packing their 27' travel trailer full of Jack when they come to visit

Yes were being invaded but thats more boise and surrounding areas. Im forty miles southeast in mtn home. Chit little town of around 15k but we have an air force base so that brings in people from everywhere. I wouldnt live in boise, meridian, Eagle, Nampa, or Caldwell if u paid me. It's less than an hour drive for me when i go up there for biz stuff or whatever and im cool with that.

Twin falls is an hour southeast of me. That place is exploding right now like boise. Not sure but back east ive heard is similar but the housing prices havent jumped as bad. Pocatello wouldn't be too bad and not too far from SLC.

As far as winter goes, more snow and colder temps than twin up thru my area. When i went to idaho falls to pick up that 6.0 my buddy bought, it was 20*+ colder there than my house. Left here at 4am at around 20*, burley was around 15* about 6am. American falls was -15*, then once we got to idaho falls about 830ish it was -10*. It was nice and clear though. Which sucked cause the inside of my window was frozen but the sun made it too hot to run any kind of heat even in a t shirt.

But check it out for sure, the Shoshone falls in twin is very cool but not flowing super huge right now i dont think. If you wanna go alittle further west from twin, take a drive thru thousand spings into hagerman. Very cool thru there also.

Last thing is the liquor store issue. I didnt know being state run was not good other than not open late. Prices seem fair and theyre open till 8, 9 on friday Saturday. A gallon of jack is usually under $50. I dont have much to compare it to but utah is much worse i feel. Atleast dont bother drinking when out to eat. And i bring my own anytime i go to salt lake. Now Hawaii is nice, wal mart has two isles worth and the big bottles of patron are $40 versus $100 here. Not that i drink alot, but i did have to restock alittle yesterday and it cost me $200. Got a big bottle of Jack, grey goose, patron, and some 03 triple sec.

I've heard several folks comment about the invasion coming across our southern border saying "why don't those people stay where they are and fix things there, that's what our founders did". Is that applicable to Californians as well? :poke :sofa: :hehe:

@voodooridr, while Idaho is definitely east of Cali, I'm not sure that's the "East" @SparkyF250 was talking about.

It's fixable, but it's probably going to get a lot worse first.

I can see that you are a “glass half full optimist”. California is done and it is just going to get a lot more overdone. Past time to cut my losses and run.

And some people say a 6.0 powerstroke can't be fixed.

Yeah, maybe if the big one hits, it breaks off LA, San Franfreakshow & the bay area floods, and Sacramento burns to the ground. Then the normal people can pick up the pieces and it'd be great again. I'm guessing said normal people could think of other areas that need cleaned out too. Just a thought. >:)

Here is my laundry list...

Ordered a Powermax turbo, Odawgs s3 intake. Getting completely rid of the EGR cooler. Also got Mishimoto radiator ordered. Going to completely flush, and run cat ELC. New 7.3 fan clutch and adapter. New belt tensioner, belt, water pump and thermostat. Air intake elbow with cold and hot side CAC tubes and hoses. New oil cooler, and IPR coolant filter kit, and finally an up pipe. Hopefully parts will be in by next Friday. Going to start tearing it down Friday night. I'm doing the work at home. Going to take my time. Plan on taking maybe Monday and Tuesday off as well to get everything done. Got a few days scheduled off to do it.

total $3770.00 not including tax and shipping costs

Is the mish radiator the updated version? They have had some problems

I would assume so. How far back did the updated version come out?

That I don't know. I know they haven't had a good reputation for a while though. A lot of people on here are avoiding buying their products though
