A little off-shoot from the "What did you do to your 6.0 today?" mega thread.
Very simple idea here, show what you bought for your 6.0 today.

Today was an expensive one for me:
-Upper and lower balljoints, both sides
-Center links
-NUC Oil by-pass filter kit
-Couple bottles of Archoil

Looking forward to posting install photos in the "What did you do to your 6.0 today?" thread.

Purchased Power Stop Z36 Extreme tow brake kit for wife's Ex. Complete kit calipers, pads, and rotors. Waiting for delivery 1-2 weeks. Purchased seal for drivers side rear hub as it is leaking. Purchased Russell ss braided brake hoses (5 line kit will change out all hoses). Purchased front hub/bearing assembly as both showing signs of wear.

Now all I need is for the brake parts to arrive so I can perform the work. Waiting two weeks sucks as truck is now parked due to seal leak.

WOW nice looking stuff there. I do have first hand SS Crown brake lines experience and the pedal is rock hard with them installed.
Those alone do wonders for the brakes on these trucks. Surely you are going to flush entire brake fluid. That also makes a positive difference.
Nice stuff bud.
Definitely doing complete flush - IMHO should be done every 30000 miles and is on both Ex's I own.

Thanks for feedback on the SS lines - reviews said they make a difference but nice to hear from independent source.
I installed the Z36 package on my KR. Not the tow package but slotted/drilled rotors with Carbon ceramic pads. Night and day braking difference. My truck stops in half the distance I bet. Amazing. I've got about 15-20,000 miles on them and the pads don't even look like they've been touched. I need to replace the line with SS lines.
You will love the braking power on yours.

Got a link on the new SS lines? how much were they?
Thanks for the feedback on the brakes.

The SS Russell lines I purchased through Summit Racing ($167.97)online at:

https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/rus-696490/overview/year/2003/make/ford/model/excursion

Should have checked at my local parts store that sells Russell but I was overseas at work and wife was having issues with Ex/brakes so I ordered that way so I had parts when I got home.

There are other brands out there as well, Crown is one I believe.

I purchased the extended warranty on all of the air tools and compressor, I figure if I take care of these items and also handle my click type torque wrenches with care they should last till I decide to spend triple that on matco snap on or other professional tools! The deals they had couldn't be beat with what I wanted to spend to have an arsenal of tools to do my own work with!
If you are only using for your own repairs they ahould last a long time. Especially if you take care of them. Good on you to get the tools to make the job easier.

Installed light bar with two 7 in Optilux (Hella) lights, bought on CL for $100.
Used Polar Wire (amazing stuff) and waterproof connectors to make my wire harness.
Finished last night. Need to do a bit of adjustment and all done. Wired them on Aux1 in my upfitters.

Those lights are pretty bright!
Pix of finished work

BPD fuel filter cap, Edge EAS 0-100 PSI sensor, Edge EAS universal sensor input. Think I have a fuel pressure problem so get the pieces to monitor. Truck parked until parts arrive. Then continue troubleshooting.

Bought a 90 and 45 as the filter is right nex to CAC pipe and would be my luck the 90 once tight is pointing at the CAC and no room for sensor

You should be able to back it off just a little bit to get it in the spot you want.. as long as you put some sort of thread sealant on the threads of the fittings and you have a decent amount of threads threaded in. There’s also a test port on the front of the fuel filter housing too that’s an option as well, kinda keeps everything hidden and out of the way. Those caps tapped on top can be a PITA for sure. Most reliable spot for fuel pressure readings would be off that test port on the housing anyways.

Gonna install this weekend - might end up going Russel braided lines/remote mounting. Possibly off test port, still to be decided. Been pouring rain here so not a chance to get under the hood and fully investigate.

Thanks for the feedback - appreciated.

Joy of being a 6.0 owner. BPD cap doesn't thread all the way down before it is seriously tight. Gonna contact BPD next week - threads on cap have blunt edges on the end threads not sure if that is the issue with it not going tight. Original Ford cap threads are tapered to a point on end of threads. Have ordered Russel fittings/hose from local parts store and going to mount remote off of test fitting port. Drowning my sorrows with a beer.

I’m sure this probably isn’t the case.. but just checking, just judging by the second pic of the cap that doesn’t have an o ring on it, did you take the o-ring off your old filter cap and put it on the BPD one? The BPD caps don’t come with their own o ring, as the o rings come with the OEM fuel filters themselves.

Just pre fitting the cap to see if I required a 90 or 45 degree fitting to put pressure sensor on. That is as far as the BPD would go in and was basically at a point of having to force it to go any further and I've learned if something has to be forced you are gonna break/damage something.

Are the LEDs dimmable ? Most of the time full bright is TOO bright for me, especially if I'm on a road trip
Work in the marine industry and bridge lights have to be dimmable. Is a PITA with LED's as some are dimmable and some pulse when dimmed and require expensive dimmer controls. Is a crap shoot on dimming DC LED's, good question to ask when purchasing.

08 style mirrors with power fold option. Just waiting on shipping - things take forever to cross the border into Canada.

I bought and received a set of PF mirrors from @1AAuto.com. They are the Trail Ridge. I mounted them and the plug is a direct fit for the power options (up, down, marker and heat) which is nice. The power fold is a different story. It has a wire kit with a switch that is provided. However, there are absolutely NO direction on how to wire this (at least in mine). But here's the kicker. You have to pass wires from the cab to the doors.
On my 07, The boot that goes in between the door and the cab is not standard. There is a plug that goes from the door and hooks to the cab portion. The plug is just like the one we have for the ECM, in that there's a lever that one flips down to "unlock" it and remove the plug. Now for the life of me I have not been able to figure out how to pass the wires from the cab to the doors.
I am trying to use the more factory install (following @Dante04SRT instructions), with the factory window switch. But as of right now my power fold is not hooked up and unless a miracle happens it's not going to.
If anyone has done this on the '07 please chime in and let me know how you got the wires from the cab to the doors.
The mirrors are awesome! I LOVE the added visibility and the blind spot mirror is incredible. The field of view for the blind spot is increase ten fold and nearly eliminates any guesses. You'll love them![/quote @zsargent

Don't know a good solution for adding a wire loom from door to cab. That has to be extremely frustrating for you.

Can you tap off of power feed for mirror select switch (driver/passenger) to feed the fold switches? Would require having to mount switches on door panel. Give me some time I'll pull up wiring diagram for my 05 and mark it up to show a possible solution using existing wiring (also will rely on wiring being same/similar between model years). Only thing is I don't know rating of switch to select mirror and if it will handle current load of fold motors . Could be a possible solution.

Thanks for feedback that the mirrors are good quality and better fields of view.

@TwinExcursions

I am using the factory 08 window switch (L, R, Up and down) with the PF option and it works well. Just the PF isn't hooked up yet. I replaced the 7 wire plug that goes into it with the factory 8 wire one. The extra wire is for the PF.

The new mirrors have the factory plug for all functions except PF. They added another plug which has a light blue wire and a yellow wire. That's for each mirror.

I have the power folding replay that is included in Dante's write up but not sure where that goes really. My bad for not doing a bit more homework on this but there has to be a way!
@zsargent

Gonna have to look at post you mention see if I can assist - wiring diagram I have is for old version switch without fold option. Now you got me thinking to change switch to 08 version, would be nicer to have all in one and not extra switches on dash.

Ordered up some tunes from Warren, curious to see how they perform compared to the SPD tune.
If you not pleased with them try Gearhead - I run his SRL+ and think it is solid. Little smokey on heavy skinny pedal but that can be advantagious when it comes to di*k head pedal bike riders/drivers . Wife runs SRL and it is solid as well. His extreme is exactly that. Tow tunes also work really good - run a 24 mile 6% grade ending in an 8% grade and still can run at 55mph on the 8% with all PID's within acceptable values. This is pulling a 7OOO lb trailer and my Ex loaded with another 1000 lb's inside of it (Ex is 8200 lb's MT)
