I have an 2008 Ford F350 Diesel. I was told i have to empty the water separator monthly to maintain optimum performance and to reduce risk to the fuel system. Unfortunately i was unaware of this for the first year of owning my truck.

Anyways, i have looked up on several forums how to do this, and i was confident i could handle the task. Unfortunately for me, and my truck, the valve is made out of cheap plastic. After locating the valve, and about 15 minutes of cleaning later, i attempted to open the valve to drain the water. That is when disaster struck... the cheap plastic valve lever snapped right off without much effort at all.

Wondering what my options are and obviously, how much this is going to cost.

Thanks in advance for any help and/or suggestions.

also, if a replacement is required to fix this issue, are there better parts out there to be used in the scenario, or is Ford the way to go?

I'd use the opportunity to rid that pump and put on a fuel labs, a fass, or an airdog...

But as it is, you can pick up a kit from the dealer and replace the lever you broke.. you take the face off and swap the gate, and a couple gaskets.. I'd rec you clean it well too, while you're in there. Maybe $75 or so for the kit.

You can buy a replacement kit for the valve and cover
