Driving on the way to work this morning I noticed the water in fuel light flicker. I immediately pulled over and drained the fuel bowl (which I already did last week when I changed the fuel filter)

1. I got back in the truck and it stayed away for a minute - but it came back on - and stayed on this time.
2. I filled the front tank up yesterday so I switched to the back tank that had fuel in it for about a week and the light STILL stayed on
3. I stopped at the nearest diesel station and filled both tanks to the brim, and for good measure drained the bowl again and the Freakin thing still won't turn off.

It's not running badly, no smoke from the exhause pipe, etc.

Could it be the sensor? What should I do? :dunno:

Stop off at the Walmart and get some Isoheat. That'll take the water out.

Yes it could be the sensor. Mine threw a code once out of nowhere that the light was inop. Luckily I drain it quite often. I cleared the code and it never came back. :dunno:

1. Well, I borrowed a buddie's car, bought some isoheat and put it in truck at lunchtime
2. Started home after work and the light stayed on all 35 miles
3. I cursed a LOT all the way home
4. When I got home I drained the fuel bowl (brand new filter was already nasty - I just got the truck and I assume the fuel wasn't well taken care of - Lord knows what else I'll uncover in the near future)
5. Took off the WIF sensor
6. Sprayed it inside and out with carb cleaner
7. Scrubbed it and did the same with the hole it came out of
(that sounds gross)
8. Put it all back together
-and-
NO WIF LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :rockwoot: :drinking3:

Did you have to get a new o-ring?

Thanks,
Mark
