I have an e99 f-350 with a stock computer XLE4-DPS402 with a TS 5-position tuner.

My computer finally croked. Scanner will not read, no wait to start light, turns over but will not crank. Checked fuses, and unplugged fuel bowl.

I currently have the computer out to replace it.

1. Should I upgrade to a 2001 computer? Or buy same one?
2. If i do upgrade, do I get a DPS-422? or another model?
3. Do i need to have it flashed?
4. Do i need to send my tuner back to get re-tuned also if i decide to upgrade?

I have heard putting a 2001 computer in will make my f-350 run a lot better and remove how sluuggish the truck runs.

I am new when it comes to the ECM/ECU/PCM and i just use my truck as a work truck installing fence and need to get it on the road asap. I would appreciate any and all help!

Thanks in advance!!
