my question is whats the point of gutting it out if u can just unplug the sensor and when u decide to hook it back up just put the sensor back in place? if im wrong about something but just wondering why do you bother taking the time to gut ur turbo.
the rod itself is prone to leak and the valve is a slight exhaust obstruction.. good riddens!

I managed to break the EBPV connector removing the turbo my own damn fault, and just reading through the forum here, so no ill effects and no CEL if left unplugged. Is this correct?

What you say does seem to be correct reading through this. My CA truck though did illuminate the CEL (and likely would not pass the smog check at that point, for both an unplugged connector and the CEL) but shortly after plugging the EBPV connector back in, the light went out. If you didn't get the CEL by now it likely won't illuminate. Mine came on within a minute or two of firing.

I think there's some differences in the CA computer...
