Hey guys, about 3 weeks ago I bought an 04 F250 ccsb. Well come to find out the head gaskets are blown. I have it at the shop getting worked on. My question is this: My injectors are two years old. Should I have them sent in and tested while they are out? They were done by RCD 180/75's. I would rather not spend the money, but at the same time Id love to have piece of mind and know they were in good shape. I would really like for this truck to be running great when it gets put back together. What should I do?

You have those and a 62/80 with stock head bolts? Surprised you lasted this long if you did. I would have them gone through just to make sure they are in proper working order. RCD has never really had a good rep on injectors.

The truck is studded, it had black onyx head gaskets too. The guy I bought the truck from evidently had been driving it for a long time with a bad oil cooler. I'm assuming that's what blew the head gaskets?

Not exactly. While it could be part of the problem, BO head gaskets have lost their reputation because everyone slowly is losing their gaskets from previous repairs. OEM head gaskets are the ONLY way to go in these trucks!
ARP studs w/ OEM gaskets!

Also, I would do an EGR delete if not done yet, and injectors... IDK... I would probably keep them until they go out. DId it seem to have any problems running (injector wise) when you bought it? If not, just use them until they go out.. which might be a LONG time!
