Ok guys, have two questions regarding axle wrap..

This is on my 2000 F250, with a 6" Superlift all spring lift (no lift blocks in the rear).

Truck has been lifted for about four years now, running the stock 3.73 gears. Had VERY minimal axle wrap that was barely noticeable.

Recently I swapped the entire rear axle to a 4.10 rear end. I've double checked that everything is tight, but now I have a lot more axle wrap that I did previously.

So, first question.. With 4.10 gear now, would that amplify (i.e make worse) axle wrap on a lifted vehicle running 37's? That's the only thing that has recently changed that could have caused the difference. As I said, I've checked and rechecked to ensure everything was reassembled correctly and tight after the axle swap. Only thing I can guess is the the roughly 10% increase in gear with the 4.10's that it's applying more force to the tires on take off, thus resulting in more axle wrap? I'm by no means a driveline/suspension expert, so, looking for some insight/opinion from those of you who are.

Now, second question.. Inevitably I'll probably end up putting some traction / ladder bars on the truck to eliminate the axle wrap. I've seen numerous threads out there searching around about all the ways to make your own, however unfortunately I don't have ready access to any fab tools or a fab shop. Only maybe limited access to a welder. So, my question is who has the cheapest traction / ladder bar kit for the '99+ SuperDuty? As I understand you can get either a bolt in/on kit, or a weld on kit and the weld on are generally cheaper, but given my access to a welder the bolt on may be the better option, however regardless I'd like to get some input on who sells the cheapest kit whether it be bolt in or weld in.

On something like that you don't just want the cheapest. Look into Precision metal fab, the guy is awesome.

Yes going to 4.10's is putting more power to the ground...... Ok more force...... so yes you will notice more axle wrap....

Do you still have the factory blocks under the rear? To me this is a flaw in suspension lit designs..... I wish the companies would offer the lifts with springs that would completly do away with the factory blocks ....... placing the springs right on the axle pad is the best way. Anytime the spring is moved away from the axle you will have axle wrap.

Yes, retained the factory blocks in the rear when the truck was lifted.

Found a really good deal on a set of Pro Comp bars with mounts that I'm picking up today after work so I'll get those installed this weekend which should help.

My obs w/ 35's and stock 4.10's has a good deal axle wrap.. and motor wise, I'm mostly stock.

Mine has nasty axle wrap, I just haven't got trac bars yet. My first axle killed it self over it.
