Hey there,
2004 6.0
I need some help in a hurry. I noticed that I had a loss in power about two days ago and the check engine light came on around the same time. I pulled code p2262 (turbo super boost pressure not detected). How should I go about finding the problem. I recently removed the turbo to change the IPR valve. I have never had any problem with the turbo before but for past few months I have noticed a shuttering noise as I let off the throttle. Sounded like the turbo but I'm not sure around 2500rpm. Oh and the truck seems to run fine when hot but very sluggish when cold but I cant hear the turbo well maybe alittle.

Holy crap it works

So i had to do a job today and feeling pretty down about my turbo issue. On my way home I was climbing a hill and all of the sudden the turbo kicked in and shot up that hill like a rocket.

A black cloud about 100 foot long came out of her and covered the fancy suv that was on my butt jsut a few seconds before LOL.

So what I think is going on is the turbo is clogged up with carbon build up and it broke free after being run for a bit or I have loose wiring to the M.A.P sensor.

Either way I'm gonna get into her tomorrow and see whats up. I keep everyone posted.

Oh and I cleared the code and it hasnt come back when the other day it did right away.

I have seen a turbo on an 04 6.0 F350 go bad. The turbo shaft had a lot of play, and I told my buddy to re-build or replace. On the way back from the shop we were at the turbo ate the bed. This is 2 weeks after he replaced 2 injectors, so I am not sure if something there caused it to go bad. Make sure you check the play on the exhaust side, turbo's don't normally just clog.

Thanks for the reply. When I had the turbo out to change the IPR I checked for play on both sides spun it, pulled on it and tryed to jiggle it around and found no play. But!!!! today i noticed when I tried to run the truck cold I had the same problem again and popped the same code. After it warmed up it was fine again. I think I may just replace it does anyone know where I can buy a rebuilt one for a good price and maybe a better quality or what ever. I don't have thousands to spend but if someone knows of a better product please let me know. Mine is the Garrett which I think is stock?
