Here in the next couple of weeks I will be getting a tuner, exhaust and intake. My question is: what tuner can I run if all I want to do is bypass my DPF so I can get rid of it? I know Spartan seems to be the best for performance, if I was racing my truck that would be great, but my truck tows a lot and when it's not towing it is ideling for hours on end, I don't want a tuner that is going to give me complications while towing or sitting idle

look into the H&S XRT or SCT tuner with canned tunes. both will delete and aren't "race" tuners really. (even though the SCT can be) Just my .02

Alright I think I have settled on the SCT Livewire, now I know I want a downpipe back exhaust but is one brand better then the other? Dpfdeletekits.com has the option of Flo-Pro, and I will probably get it in 4inch stainless. Also, should I run it with an aftermarket muffler or no muffler?

If all you want it for is deleting the DPF, any of the delete tuners will work so just go with the cheapest one. Theres no sense in paying extra for things you wont use.

As far as exhaust goes, AFE and Flo-Pro both make very nice systems. A muffler will help keep the noise down, but a straight piped kit is not loud inside the cab at all.

I would recommend the H&S XRT, but that does not tune the transmission and with you towing a lot that would be a necessity.

I'm in Keller if you're near there, I've got the powerstroker67 deletes with magnaflow dpf back... I just took the last section off and dumped it after the axle and now the hairdryer noise is not there and it sounds more like a diesel.
Also--you may look into the Innovative 4tune package before you load all the stuff up on your truck. I wish I'd have done it before, because you've got to send it to them to have it programmed in. I didn't wanna put the dpf back on to send it to them, so I went ahead and got a single tune from them for now. Its just the Xtreme Street tune I think, but its wayyyyy better than the extreme canned tune...

I've had my truck running beside an '09 with 5" straight pipe and there wasn't much of a difference. I am running the flo pro 4" with race muffler. You should be able to straight pipe a 6.4 and not make alot of noise, not like a cummins anyway.
