I read up on this chip everybody says its a decent way to go, but i installed it & tranny is shiftinging weird, goes into 2nd at 2500 rpms then lock torque conv up way to early ? this is a generic tune chip, on a 96 psd ext cab 4x4 long box. thanks for input .:dunno:

It changes shifting points and such.

I would hav some one program it for your truck and what u want out of ur truck. I used Cale at tyrant deisel and I like mine. I had one issue with it it would shut down going from daily to stock called him and he sent a hole new chip with the fix for it quik.

I know what custom tunes r dont want them till I do my mods, so is there anything I can do to this chip to make it work right ???

well first guess is it shifts to 3rd 2 seconds after it shifts to 2nd thats my first guess ? why would u want it to do that ??

I'm kinda having the same issue and havent found a solution to the problem yet. Mines acting up just in a litte differant way

Besides the shifting being differant is there anything else you've noticed acting up. Such as boost or fuel pressure if you have a gauge? Mines a super duty so it might be differant, but I also have boost issues along with the weird shifting. I've changed my icp, ipr, map, and throttle positioning sensor. Along with changing my fuel and oil filter with fluid and resealed my plenums with all new boots.

Just a different shift pattern. They think that's optimal for that tune.

I bet it's the TC locking and not actually shifting into 3rd. It sounds normal. If under heavier throttle usage it should shift a bit differently.

Just a different shift pattern. They think that's optimal for that tune.

yes thats what it is doing, dont do it stock so why is it now cause it added 50 hp ? should I get a good valve body for the trans, I had 2 other powerstrokes with tuners & they didnt do this so far ts says they cant do anything about it..

I personally wouldn't have went with ts... thats the first problem.

But yes even stock thats close to how our trucks react... although stock, they dont lock the TC nearly enough in my opinion. Locking the TC is a good thing... gets the power to the ground, eliminates lots of tranny heat, and gives you better mpg.

Your chip is telling the tranny to shift that way because it senses you just putting around not using the power... so the chip is trying to conserve fuel by getting into locked TC asap.

yes a VB is ALWAYS a good thing. It will help you out further. Although you might need a retune because it might start shifting super ragged.

I can send the chip back for refund should I go with tw chip ? if so where or whats the best place to do this I cant find his own web ? thanks..
