Hello everyone, over the past month I've been having the same issue with my truck so I thought I would make an account on here to see if anyone could possibly have any insight. I've looked through other threads on here to see if anyone else has had a similar issue but had no luck. I recently purchased a 2009 f250 with the 6.4. It's only got 104xxx miles but it was in a collision at 92xxx miles and was fixed shortly after. It had very light front end damage (I've seen pics). I'm giving you the history on it thinking it may help pinpoint the problem incase the wreck had anything to do with it. I'm using a SCT X4 tuner, I'm not 100% on who put the tunes on it (they were on it before i bought it) but they're name was either Zack or Matt from Knoxville, TN. Anyways, the truck runs and drives like a top but about every 10-20 starts it won't start. I haven't noticed any patterns but it's inevitable. When I say it won't start I mean all the lights on the dash work properly and everything seems correct but when you turn the key-nothing, no sounds of trying to crank over or anything. In order for it to start I have to reprogram the stock tunes on the truck, then it will start and run 5 min or so until it dies and won't crank back over. After that I have to put the custom tunes back on the truck and it will run perfectly until its next episode, leaving me to repeat the above steps. I called SCT and they recommended getting someone else to put tunes on it like Eric from Innovative. Another said it could be the trucks ECM or PCM. On another note, whenever I put the truck in reverse I have to give it a little gas in order to get it into gear, and when it finally catches it jerks into it pretty hard. Sounds like it may be unrelated to my previous issue but if it by chance is related maybe I can kill two birds with one stone. I apologize for the lengthy post but I didn't want to leave any details out so I can finally get this taken care of.

My truck had a exposed wire under the front of the dash that was grounding out. I suppose it was for a disconnect of some type. I wrapped the exposed wire with tape and haven't had the problem since.
