I was wondering if anyone had troubles when trading in their 6.0 or 6.4 I traded in my 6.0 about a month ago for a new 6.7 About 3 days later the dealer called asking if I had the old parts from my EGR Delete. They were begging for them. Since they treated me good I gave them the old parts. They said they can not sell that truck the way it had been changed. Then they admitted that if they knew it was like that they would not have excepted it as a trade in. They were cluless about the 6.0s reputation. I asked why in the world they would change it back when having a delete in my mind would be a good selling point. In Pennsylvania they can not sell a vehicle legally when emission equipment have been altered even though diesel engines do not need tested.. Well.... Yet..

Same thing here, I live in SE Pa. After trading in my 05 Cummins, I got a call from my sales guy asking for the cat. I imagine this may have more to do with Pa than anything. Felt bad, if I knew it was a big deal, I would have kept it. My truck had been straight piped for a couple years and that puppy was long gone.

Yes it doesn't matter on the state. They can not legally sell the vehicle if it's missing any emissions equipment which is why they were asking for all the parts back.

It's a Federal Law, and a dealer can not sale a car or truck that has been altered.

Good to know. Glad I've never been caught, just about every vehicle I've ever owned had modified exhaust. Eventually, the 2011 will get the treatment as well.

I understand that its the law but I'm just surprised Ive never heard anything about getting turned down with a trade in. It seems to me that most trucks have some type of modification done. You would think the dealers would be looking right away for that. I was surprised that my Ford dealer didn't even know about the 6.0's reputation
