Just wondering if a transmission can be adjusted to downshift just a little easier? It requires a major squash on the accelerator to get a down shift.
When I squash the accelerator, I get a lot of exhaust smoke. So far I have two letters from air quality district.

If I can get it to downshift easier, the truck may not need smaller injectors to avoid the smoke.

1996 7.3 with a Wildman chip and stage two injectors. Doesn't seem to have a position on the six tune chip that avoids the smoke.

Just turn the chip down to a smaller setting. That gives less smoke.

Not that I am aware of, might be able to have the pcm reprogrammed or maybe the chip reburned to help you out. But there are no physical adjustments on the trans to do what you want.
