I want to upgrade my transmission cooler on my 97 F350. Was curious if anyone here has done it them selves and what advise they have for me. I am interested in what brand transmission cooler yall might have used. Parts numbers and any advise please. Thanks yall!

Tru cool 40k transmission cooler for under $200 for a kit I believe dieselsite but a quick google will bring one for your truck.

Also you can look into a 6.0L transmission cooler. I have a 1999 (superduty) but my friend with a 1997 got it to work with little work like I did for mine. you just need some transmission rated hose 1/2in and some 3/8s to 1/2in barbed adapters to run the 6.0l cooler. Mine was bolt on.

both the tru cool and a 6.0l transmission cooler on average lower temps 25+ degrees. One of the first mods I did to my truck and worth every penny!

no one that I know of. all you need is like 3-4 ft of 1/2in hose and a 3/8-1/2in adapter preferably double male end fittings and some hose clamps. some for the 3/8s and some for the 1/2in (the 1/2in ends are for the 6.0l trans cooler).

The 6.0l cooler is much cheaper though. its about $350plus for the cooler then hoses, extra trans fluid, fittings, and adapter). I bought a dorman one for like $180 though and had it since 2016 with no issues. towed 5th wheels skidsteers, small uhaul units, and no issues crossing 1800 mile road trip like 5 times lol.

I found the dorman unit on the 6.0l section of xdp diesel here and used their price beat guarantee on a unit from rockauto and saved some coin.
