what am I lookin at spendin to get a manual transmission to swap out my auto (if and when) my auto goes out. I can probably do most of the work myself. But I was more lookin at unit cost. Any suggestions or price ranges would be appreciated. The only reason to begin with that I got an auto was so my wife could drive it. But she has only drove it about 3 times since I bought it over a yr ago...so not a concern anymore. thanks for the input.

throw out berring, stick (if not with tranny) new drive shaft(s) and maybe need to flash computer not sure.

this is an incomplete guestamation based on stuff i priced on my 95 but the year would make a difference.

Probably cost more than a new automatic. I bought my auto truck for the same reason and she never drives it either. When my tranny started acting up I looked into the 6spd swap and decided the cost was not worth the effort. My new auto tranny from the Ford dealer was $2035 and has a 3 year 75,000 mile warranty. A good auto tranny like from BTS is around $4,000.
