Hello everyone,
Im brand new here to the community but have read hundreds of threads and love the site.
First of all i have a late 1999 f-350 dually 4x4 crew cab, with 4" turbo back straight pipe, Banks CAI w/zoodad mod. isspro gauges. and just added Tony Wildman Chip.
I received the chip and got it installed, making SURE i got the connectors extra clean. truck started right up and ran fine i tried the hi idle setting first to test the chip. truck reved up to 11-1200 rpm and ran smooth. good deal! i noticed the truck has a rougher idle but i expected that. I took the truck for a drive and couldn't believe the Power, but as i came back and the truck was good and warm, as i slowed down for my driveway the truck died. it has done this a few times now, mostly on the higher settings. like the idle comes down too low on the let off, or the torque converter isn't unlocking? Now i notice when the truck is warm and i use the high idle setting it revs up but has a really bad miss or is running really rough, unless i gently press the pedal, And this does not happen when the factory high idle is on. yesterday i took the truck for a 35 mile drive into town. on the way back in economy mode, the ses light came on. i then switched to the daily setting and the light immediately went off, then i switched to tow and it immediately came on, then off again on heavy tow. then on, on extreme, the light then went off on all settings after i got home and got my code reader out. there were no stored codes.
so my questions are,
is there anything i can do to make the high idle run smooth?
whats causing the truck to quit?
whats causing the ses light to come on? and should i ignore it or is there something i can do to fix it?
any suggestions or upgrades you think would help would be appreciated.

is the chip secure?
you must clean all of the silicone off but not so much that copper starts showing through on the pcm.
the ses light is probably from overboost.

The chip is secure, i spent an hour on cleaning the terminals and securing the chip, im SURE it is clean and secure. the truck had quite a bit of power before i chipped it. more than most 7.3L i have drove, makes me wonder about previous injector upgrades?? I've owned the truck almost 3 years. has 223K on it now. at what psi is overboost? i will be pulling with it alot this week and will have the obd scanner on it. if it is overboost does a boost fooler take care of that? Also wondering if it is ok to run a BTS Valve body with the chip?
Thanks for the help.
