Hey Guys, I have a 1997 F250 7.3L XLT CREW-CAB 4x4 With all the ford dealership service records in great condition for its age. And it’s completely stock to boot. Also I bought it off the original owner for only $7500. Practically a barn find. I have heard these trucks referred to as UNICORNS because of how rare they seem to be at least in California. So... is it rare? or what is the most prized OBS 7.3 out there?

I have owned it for about 6years and I’m now running into some rust pitting in the roof panel. Does anyone know where I could find a roof panel for any of the 80s-90s F-series trucks? I just need the first 10” of a new roof skin. Let me know thanks.
Depends on the condition, mileage, and prior maintenance of the truck as to whether or not it's a 'unicorn'. The reason you are hearing that word is due to the 7.3 Powerstroke resting inside. Those diesels are known for being a workhorse and never stopping as long as they're taken care of.
As for the rust, shouldn't have an issue find a donor truck/roof somewhere. Just have to look. Good luck!
