So 1997 F350 new to me Claire has burned piston.
The new one starts seems to run fine then outa the blue Check Engine Light(CEL) on and its all about forcing Maggie to ride that pony. Its like the PCM makes it run horrible.
All tests come back 1111 all good
CEL 1211?

On kinda another note but the same tune after benching the IPR cleaning it all fancy(been doin this for almost 10yrs) 2 in a row cause CEL? They ohm out at 10.2 to 10.6, seem to operate when 12 volts are applied and put em in and starts easy runs sweet about 2 minutes and blam throws a CEL?
Well I aint forcin Maggie she needs to do sumþin on her own...

The song is a pretty good explanation of how 7.3ltrs and especially obs can be a bit of a bear to diagnose...

Anyhow yes always the first thing I do is electronically divorce the tuning packages to a 2nd PCM with diodes that don't crash, that can be switched between just for tuning and troubleshooting. Unfortunately is real real hard to know what you are getting.
Like the current 1211 that began to get a bit better as I sloshed a gal of atf into the transmission that has a rather large trans cooler down and a bit forward of the Charge air cooler.
Not aware of how many gallons it was meant to hold I added another gal this a.m. did better.
Did some running around got 2 new front tires
It seems to me now that the 6 pos may need a reflash
Acceleration is good, drops out like flooded telling me OE tune, or massive boost leak180/30 from experience already pumped the CA cooler to 45 held for 2min and only had maybe 1/4lb loss
Need fuel gauge but expensive and have work in Cali so I am out after ahitch swap.

Strange though that the CEL pops on then idle goes to **** like KAM is not coming back up every time though pcm is new and dust free have not looked insid3 for who they got it from(who is the seller) so? My rebuilt bench tested IPR squadron may have failed me for pastry and pate?

Ever see a Fuel Bowl Filter Cap heaving so much it lets fuel out? Wth?
Anyhow here some telemetry with tune(only way it will actually drive) after endoscoping the tanks and the very small and slow migration of air I could send down the return lines I am guessing the lines are most likely clogged?
I purposely took the front down to E and it took some 30 minutes to get the engine to operating "normal" again. If normal is WOT 2800 rpm @ 60 and no black smoke. I got puffs after blowing the return. I will send pics of data from no chip but they look the same...
Why would the filter cap be heaving where is the system plugged?
