Tennessee and Alabama chapters get together

How about ideas for a joint Tennessee and Alabama chapters get together,

What kinda activities do we want?
Family activities, State park/ Campground, Lake/River, Mountains, diesel shop/dyno, drag strip/ sled pull

Seems like for a lot of us money is a bit of an issue so we may want to keep it cheap as possible so that more can come.

I figure if we can throw out a lot of different ideas then decide what we want to do then we can decide where and when.

So let’s start throwing ideas out;

Here is the some post in the TN forum;

Thats cool with me
I’m okay with anything, I wouldn’t mind checking out Tims Ford, I might leave the tractors at home and just bring the camper.
jdstroker6.0 is looking around to see what he can find so we might want to give him a day or two but if he can’t find anything better suited for everyone then yea lets nail it down and move on.
I'm probably just going to drive up for that day, so anywhere is fine. I just need some decent directions and I'm probably there.

Dude, you’re looking at about 4 hours one way from Centreville, Alabama to Tims Ford and the truck pull is on Friday night and will likely run late into the night then we will probably plan a cookout or something for Saturday night.
Yeah, that would be a long drive, but I have done something like that before
Well it’s decided, we are going to stay at Tims Ford state park Sept 18-19 and maybe 20th and there will be a sled pull in Fayetteville at the fair on Friday night the 18th for any who are interested.
Now what are our plans for the rest of the weekend?
I'd rather drive up early Saturday morning and get there around 10am. and leave around 5pm. It will probably all I can swing to put fuel in the diesel. We went back to 4 day work weeks at 30 hrs. We're suppose to be getting 32-36 by then but I don't intend to fund anything I don't have too. I just want to 'attend' to get our club off the ground. I intend to keep my word and help where I can. I would rather put the $$$ for the hotel in food and drinks or something anyway. If we don't do anything for Saturday I'll have to figure something out for Friday evening depending on what shift I'm on.

This is why I asked. I agree and certainly understand your situation. We could have the all out cook out bash Saturday around 3 so you could get on the road back home and we could make it to the tractor show/pull. :thumb:
I’d be happy to let you pitch a tent on our campsite and eat with us if you need to save some cash and want to stay the weekend. I would offer you an air conditioned bed in the camper but I’m not sure how many of my kids are going. I think my buddy and his family are planning on staying in a tent too. We might wind up putting all the kids in tents and the 4 of us adults might sleep in the camper.
I’m sure you can hang out the weekend without spending much of anything, the biggest cost will be the fuel and that won’t change no matter how many days you spend.
Heck if the kids decide not to go then you could always stop at my house and ride the rest of the way with us if you think you can fit in my half size back seat.
I think the money will be fine. I[all of the team members of Mercedes] am waiting on our next crew meeting. They should be able to tell us something by then. We haven't ramped up like everyone else. The cash for clunkers doesn't help our market. We are planning our schedule only 3 months out at most. We used to have it by the year. I just know my wife won't come to the meeting, she ain't an outdoors person by any means. I hate to stay gone all weekend and leave her here alone. I just want to get enough people together to start the club. I may be able to bring a fellow diesel owner to this one. He has a camper, but it being a gooseneck means we'd come in his truck. I refuse to ride in a truck that far without it having a programmer on it. I don't think he would want to stay overnight either, although I haven't asked him.
I understand about the wife, mine is a city girl too and she would absolutely refuse to stay in a tent with no AC. It’s all I can do to get her to stay in the 5th wheel with AC and a full bathroom. It would also be difficult for me to go away for an entire weekend and leave her home too so I understand where you’re coming from there also. You gotta love them though, my life would suck without mine!

I guess everyone here is also watching the other thread but just in case here is what we are thinking about doing;

Friday night truck pulls
Saturday the fair and tractor show then a little sitting around the campground, eating and socializing on Saturday night?
Sunday church service and cookout

Sound good to everyone?

Man, I hear ya. I've tried with mine and she is surprisingly fast for a ......... woman. :hehe::hehe::hehe:

She hits harder than you would think too. :nod::nod:
That reminds me of a saying I got from my preacher that I have been using on my wife.
“Honey you can never leave me….Cause I’ll just go with you”
A man was asked why he took his wife along all the time and he said "I wouldn't wear pants without pockets either".

Some things just don't look right or work very well without the other parts.

I do not function well at all without mine. Adam said "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and Cleave unto him his wife and they twain shall be one flesh" Just like the wedding ring a perfect union has no begining or end.
