Tennessee and Alabama chapters get together

How about ideas for a joint Tennessee and Alabama chapters get together,

What kinda activities do we want?
Family activities, State park/ Campground, Lake/River, Mountains, diesel shop/dyno, drag strip/ sled pull

Seems like for a lot of us money is a bit of an issue so we may want to keep it cheap as possible so that more can come.

I figure if we can throw out a lot of different ideas then decide what we want to do then we can decide where and when.

So let’s start throwing ideas out;

Here is the some post in the TN forum;

I am game for anything but it would be fun to go camping. I used to go to Fall Creek Falls in Pikeville, Tn and it was a really cool place.
I personally like camping too, I got a 27’ 5th wheel that doesn’t get used near enough. It would be fun to get a bunch of camping sites together and cookout and socialize. Wouldn’t be too expensive either. Folks that wanted to could stay the weekend and other folks might chose to come for a day. I like Guntersville lake state park in AL and Davey Crockett in TN but both of those are way off the interstate. There is a campground and big water park with lake & fishing and golfing here in Decatur called Point Mallard Park - Family Recreational Fun Land, Decatur, Alabama, might be a good place for the wife and kids to get entertained while we talk about trucks.
Well I don't have a camper but I love camping. I'm not scared to sleep in a tent. lol
There aint nothing wrong with tent camping, it’s all the same except for maybe having AC, I admit I do like that part.
Maybe we can get a variety of RVs, popups, tents and truck bed campers and take over a whole section of a campground.
Yeah, I can try to get my Uncles 5th wheel but I don't know if that will happen. My pops has a 5th wheel but he lives in it so I know that wont happen. lol
How about at the end of August? I could bring one of the boats for folks to play in. We prefer hotels or lodges in a state park if they are available to site camping. I have a camping set up for my conversion van. But, it isn't a "stroke". Somebody throw a few pins in a map and see what is closest for all of the members.

If the Alabama guys haven't gotten a map yet one of their members might take that on and we could collaborate on an event map.

I put this in the TN forum as well.
I have a map made up but i need to update it
Try this link and see if it will get you to our map. If it won't, PM me your email and I will add you as though you were a TN member and then you can see it.

Google Maps
I am a TN member and the map link didn’t work for me, it just displayed a blank map of the south east.

x2 on that
Goose350,

PM me your email and I will addyou to our map so you can see it. It is unlisted and I think that has to be the problem.
got it working now. Thanks. How did y'all create this map?
I did it through Google maps. You have to create a user id for yourself and then save a map as yours. Give it a name and start adding data. You can make it public or private and allow as many collaborators as you see fit. If you allow it the collaborators you add can add more themselves and the thing takes on a life of it's own.

Have fun with it.

I don’t really like that one much, I haven’t camped there but we drove through to check it out and I didn’t think it was worth trying but it is located well for our purposes. But it looks like we are going to do it in Fayetteville at the fair. It would be nice to find a lodge and campground together and very close to Fayetteville. I still haven’t decided yet whether to bring the camper or to bring the antique tractors, can’t hardly bring both.
Here is the discussion of this posted on the TN site;

Over on the TN side thread the question has been posed.................. Who wants to declare Tims Ford the Campground and dispense with the poolls and get on with life. What do you guys think?
