I started my truck, warmed it up, and I was driving with no problems but when I came to a stop the truck shut down. I waited about two minutes at most, started my truck and I drove on. This has happened numerous times wether I am coming to a stop or if i am already stopped. On a couple occasionas when I try to restart my truck the TBC light is flashing. I know for a fact that this is not a moisture problem because i have already checked...does anyone have any suggestions? you can contact me at [email protected] I would really appreciate the help

My buddy is having the same problem on his 05 6.0. We were out driving and he got on it then it shot off all of a sudden and the turbo barked real loud and now it wont start at all. It says on the dash TBC Fault. I unhooked both battery's to try to restart it or clear it but that didnt't work. Any suggestions??

The TBC is the trailer brake controler. There have been a number of issues with the TBC.
By most accounts it is internal circuitry problems of the controler. There was also cases of moister getting in the firewall plug of the TBC circuit.
I think you have another issue going on as the TBC has nothing to do with engine control or function. [This is for F250Stroker08]

Whoa Guys the TBC fault has nothing to do with your engine at all.

It means either A you have a bad ground on your trailer. Or B your cable on your trailer is too short and causing it to pull out of the plug or C you have a short in the factory trailer harness wiring or the plug is gunked up

Thanks guys. I didn't think that would be causing the truck not to start. It just happened to pop up when the truck shut off and wouldnt start. Just wanted to check and see what it meant.

I have a tbc fault code as well. I just went to the dealer and they disconnected the controller and re-programmed the ECU to say there was no tbc connected and it's still showing the fault code. How can I get rid of this?

Hi , I used to get an intermittent tbc fault any the annoying that goes along with it. There is a sensor on your break pedal arm, costed about 27 bucks at the dealer, that solved the tbc fault problem.
Good luck, hope that helps.

This might be my starting problem. Truck won't start. But I did get it to start by turning on the ignition and then going under the hood and jumping the starter with the yellow wire...truck started right up. But it still wont start from the ignition key.

Check fuse #12.
I know this is an old post but I was getting the TBC fault Which started with MY truck No crank Problem. They're not really related. But heres what happened I had puuled a bunch of fuses to check them for my no start problem and I hadn't reinserted the #12 fuse, indicated above, properly. This post got it fixed but not until I had checked a thousand other things first. This fuse is in the engine compartment and its for the brake pressure sensor. I was about ready to order a new Trailer brake controller when I came upon this post. So thanks. You just never know when posting something might help somebody in the future. Here it is 12 years later.

New to this board. Am having similar problems with my '06 F250 6.0. Moisture was mentioned a few times in this thread, could someone tell me where to look, fuse box under hood, trailer connection, etc. It poured here today and now I am having some significant drivability issues. Thanks
