Is it easy to remove? Previous owner had a different unit in there with sattelite radio. He put the stock unit back in before selling the truck. The XM antenna is still on the roof, I want to pull the radio and try to find the wire so I can use it on my Roadie sattelite receiver.

Also, my left speaker is not very loud, I have to adjust the balance way left to even things out. My first suspicion is maybe the polarity is reversed? But I am no audio expert.

Funny thing is, my old 6.9 was the same way, had to keep the balance cranked to the left more.

the stock radio is very easy to remove, 1st u need the ford special din removal tool u can get it at wal mart, there is 2 small holes vertical to each other on both ends of the radio, this is where u push in the special tool to pull the radio out, also i think u have to remove the big trim piece that goes from the drivers side of the dash over to the radio, hope this helps

Thanks, I didn't have a clue about the DIN tool, found out Autozone has them, I'm going to get one after dinner. I probably would've broke something trying to get it out.:thumb:

Well I got it out, it was very easy with the tools! However, no sign of my satellite antenna. The antenna itself is mounted on the roof with the wire going in behind the third brake light. I pulled all the door thresholds, no sign of it. They must have fished it above the headliner and down one of the front A pillars. Probably cut it off somewhere when they put the factory radio back in.

Got my XM Roady installed, it came out very nice. I cut a piece of 2X4 that fits perfectly in the cubbyhole by your right knee, painted it black & screwed the swivel mount to it, tucked the excess power cord in the cubbyhole next to it. It looks really professional, I can angle it toward me. I didn't want to spend a lot on a new head unit, and I had the Roady laying around.
