As the title says i just bought a bone stock 2005 f250 that is absolutely bone stock with 135 k on the ticker. I have around 7 k to spend. I know about getting it bullet proofed which i was quoted $3600 to have it done. but that leaves 3500 left to spend.

Lets hear what you folks would spend with $3500

head gaskets, studs, BPD egr/egr delete, BPD oil cooler,oil filter bypass, ELC coolant,coolant bypass filter, BPD water pump, some form of a monitor/tuner.

umm... yeah that should take care of that 7g's you have burning a hole in your pocket.

What does the 3600 get you? OEM HG's/ARP Studs?

I will +1 fordtrucknut's response and add a FICM... at 135K it's only a matter of time... May as well get a BPD one or Ed's ficm with Atlas 40 ficm tune...

Then work on some progressive coil lift and rear blocks and new shocks and tires...

I can spend money well!!!

3600 is arp studs oem hg's new oil cooler egr delete updated up pipes fresh oil change heads checked and fixed if need be. the tires are coming Tuesday as well as a leveling kit and new shocks for the front end. I went with 315-70-17 goodyear duratracks.

3600 doesn't sound too bad for all that if labor is included.

Like others said, if you get a BPD FICM, you should get an 80 horsepower tune on it. From there, an SCT Tuner with Vivian's Looney Tunes or IDP's tunes will wake the truck up like you won't believe. At this point, a 5" straight pipe would probably be a good idea to really let the exhaust flow and get that beautiful sound. After that, you could really go big and do a Powermax turbo and bigger injectors, and you'll truly have a 6.0 to be envied:thumb:

put a coolant filter on it immediately. get the system cleaned up before repairing anything

In addition to bulletproofing I'd suggest;
Blue spring update
New shocks
4" turbo back exhaust
Edge Insight CTS or similar monitor
SCT tuner and a couple custom tunes.

Sadly 3500 in the gas world would get you a supercharger and all the supporting mods but here its like I've spent that in misc bs here and there. Coolant filter. Coolant itself. Blue spring. Couple of tools to work on it. Oil.

well I made my appointment at the shop to get bullet proofed and a sct live wire tuner installed, they offered to do a batmo wheel as well should i do this? I ordered my exhaust yesterday 4 in turbo back. I plan on ordering the blue spring when the truck gets back from the shop.
