Hello,

I am the sad owner of a 2000 International 4700 flatbed truck, with a 99-00 dt444e engine. When I first joined this site, I explained the lack of knowledge and mechanical skill held by sum of the mechanics here in the Bahamas.

I reached out to Powerstroke for answers. After chatting with members here and asking questions. I had a diagnosis done on my truck, and in revealed that I had to change a couple of injectors. Just last week I purchased and installed two brand new injectors. I was not at all shocked to see that my truck was still smoking.

This is some of the most toxic white smoke ever. I will be checking the turbo seals in the morning. Can anyone else give any ideas what else needs to be check to resolve this problem. I have not driven in 4 months:mad::mad::mad:.

Did you drive it at least 20 miles after replacing the injectors? It could ultimately be low compression. Does it smell like raw diesel fuel mist? Does it improve any as the engine warms up? Is there a lot of blowby if you remove the oil fill cap with the engine running?

Pikachu- The truck will turn off whenever the gas is accelerated, so I would not want to go on the road. Had it running for a half hour yesterday with the valve covers off. There are still 3 injectors with old o-rings. Thinking about changing them tomorrow. The smoke smells awful, and burns your eyes, even when standing at a distance. Water from coolant bottle disappears into the engine, and I still can't figure out where is it going. I really need to fly in a mechanic.
