Well guys. As much as I hate to say it I do not need to be the Director of the Dixie Strokers anymore. I am super busy with work and my life right now. I feel as if someone else can be more devoted to give this place what it needs.

Another reason for this is there seems to be no interest in the chapter from anyone. This thread was started three weeks ago in our section and not a single person from Alabama has replied.

Post in this thread your nominations for Director, Assistant Director and Historian (if we even have enough active members). I will not be accepting any nominations for any positions.

PM sent to the Membership so everyone will see this.

Grayson, I hate to hear this. I would love to be more involved in this chapter. The chat thread seems to never die, which is good. I too, am pretty busy, but I would love to do more to help out. Let me know what I can do.

As far as nominations goes, who are the current board members?

I to have been busy, I work all day and do paperwork all night. Running a business is a real challenge. I do not have time to look for new posts, I do good just to keep up with the AL and TN chat threads. I would have never seen this thread if Goose hadn't PM'd me about it.

Grayson, I hate to hear you are stepping down. I am relatively new to powerstroke.org and ford powerstrokes in general but already you have been a tremendous help to me. I really don't know what the chapter is all about other than helping each other out and maybe a couple get togethers per year. I too stay pretty busy but i did see a thread about the get together earlier this year but was unable to make it. You are pretty much the only member i have spoken with so i dont even know where to start as far as nominating some one. Just a couple of questions out of curiosity.

What are your goals for the chapter?
What is required of each of the officers?

Thats the problem. You live 20 minutes away from me and I wanted to come over while you were working on your truck, but I couldnt find the time to do it.

Like I said, I am not leaving the forum. I just think someone else needs to take the roll of Director. Someone to give it a jump start.

Goals for the chapter is to have meets often and lots of people be active on the internet.
Not much is required from the officers. Not much at all.

Grayson, you have your reasons for stepping down and i respect that. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself for not making it to help with my truck though. After all it was Easter weekend and the next week the biggest natural disaster in modern alabama history landed in your backyard, so i understood you have matters to attend to close to home. I will do what i can to help the chapter. Let me know if i can help.

Hey Grayson sorry to hear about this. Although I never got to meet you in person, from the late night chats(only time I can find to be online) you seem to be a stand-up guy. I would sugest maybe if, and only if, no-one steps up to fill the slot that you just keep doing what your doing and life will come back around. There has not been alot of activity here thats true but you can't shoulder all that by yourself. But if you feel that it is best, then my hats off to you for what you did. My respects to ya. Tim

Grayson , I'd hate to see you step down, but I completely understand. As far as g2g go, you can't make people show up, and you can't always make them yourself. This is a hobby/bad habit for most or all of us. I'd love to make the Bean's deal this weekend, but it's more of a drive than I want after getting home around 2A.M. Saturday morning. My only idea for a g2g is a volunteer weekend on cleanup somewhere. There's so many requirement for helping with that now, I'm not sure it's even an idea. I can't speak for everyone else, but one or 2 g2g is all I ever expected. The most you can really hope for is 5-8 people making a cookout. I'll help anyone where I can, but I'm fairly sure I don't want a leadership role. The g2g we had at Frog's was a blast, and I not what you'd call a gun person. I think everyone is burried/bogged down with work and chores right now, we could probably put a g2g this fall when things slow down.

That would work, but it is not the best option. IMO that is what was going on.

I hate to see this chapter going down. Trucks in general just hasn't been my focus lately. Plus there's not alot of OBS activity on here like there is on the nation. I'd still like to meet up with anyone I can if I ever make it to any diesel events. Hopefully there will be another get together in Cullman soon.

Maybe it has to do with the current economic conditions. Seems like a few years ago there were lots of folks (myself included) with nothing better to do with their spare cash than build up a smoke blowing diesel truck. Now it seems like there is a combination of a lot less spare cash and more prudent ways of spending it, like beans and bullets. That combined with $4 a gallon diesel and that is staying higher than gasoline.
I'm not going to Beans dyno day for a combination of the above reasons and a few years ago I wouldn't have thought twice about going.

Very understandable, but the part in bold is what gets me. Why not post in the thread that you are not going?

Grayson I hate to say it, but we might as well let the ship sink. I don't think anyone has the time to put into this anymore. I don't mind helping at all, but I'm not a leader on this by no means. I won't even take a leadership position at work.
