What's the reason for some trucks having them stock and some do not? Certain package, etc...

I have an FX4 without one.
Are you the original owner? I'm pretty sure they came factory with it....
I say that but can only be sure of the 04 F350.

I am not the original owner, I do not see any evidence of a stabilizer either. Could it be a 3/4 ton vs 1 ton thing?

I imagine you know where they mount ? way up on the frame /steering linkage ? out of site on most lower trucks

it should be easy to tell if one was ever bolted in there ?

good thing is Rancho makes a factory replacement

my o6 FX4 250 KR had one

Yeah....I've looked over the area quite well when I did my level kit for worn front end parts and such and didn't see any evidence of a bracket installed or anything.

does your steering linkage have a hole in it just down from the pitman arm?

I do recall when I bought My rancho they had 2 kits one for a factory replacment and 1 for a truck that never had one ?

the frame OEM mount is a drop bracket on the pass side of the engine cradle

I don't know how bad you want one but I really like the top gunz dual setup I have

If you get one try the kyb, I have had good luck with them lasting on my excursion and 04 fx4, they are actually Dampeners, not stabilizers, and they do reduce vibration and kickback from the wheels, and can change the frequency of an ocilation, stoping death wobble, but they are a bandaid. they do not cure worn parts or poor alignment that caused the wobble in the first place. If your wheel/tire package is heavier, larger, and less round than oem you should have a stouter dampener(s) just like you should have upgraded shocks with a lift and tires/wheels.
