Hello all, Just quick question. I have looked at calculators and gear charts, and I want real world opinions and facts. I just had her regeared and wondering if I chose the right combo. Her stats:02 F350, 37 inch tires and 4:30 gears i use her for daily fun, romping red light to red light and towing a 12000lbs toyhauler and 5000lbs boat, at different times. At 60 mph she spins at 2000 rpms. Is that a reasonable rpm range?

that sounds pretty close. with 4:10's you would normally see 2100 at 70 so it seems reasonable.

I have 3.73's with 285's [email protected] mph-1900rpm.

Okay so on the way home from work today I thought I would turn OD off and at 60mph she's at 2500rpm's. I normally tow with OD off, I would like your guys opinion on safety for the trans and longevity of the trans twing with OD off.

i wouldnt tow with od off unless your going through a lot of hills...

ya unless you are having trouble with it downshifting you should definitely leave the o/d on.

Looks like the truck may not have a tuner and has an exhaust. That setup
will rob some torque. Chip it and you can tow at 70mph locked solid
in OD. Stock there was no way I could pull my 10k trailer with the milage
and speed I do now.... Hensley hitch helps a bunch too.
