After some discussion, it seems some of the Oklahoma members would like to see the word "Sooner" taken out of the Chapter name. I know we can't please everyone but we will try to please the majority. Hell, I'm a cowboys fan but i don't care either way.

BigTone motioned to have a vote and I seconded that motion.

So the question is:

Would you like to change the name from "Sooner Powerstrokers" to something else without the word Sooners in it?

Please do not vote here unless you are an OKLAHOMA RESIDENT and either a current member of the chapter or a potential future member.

This name change is only in respect to those who are avid Sooner haters...lol.
If you just don't like the name for some other reason, please don't skew the vote because of that.

Hey Clay,
I'm confused. (A frequent state for me). Do you want everyone to
vote here? I'm not sure who you are addressing in this thread:dunno:

Everyone who is or wants to be a chapter member.
But i wanted the vote to be based on the word sooner in the name and not the word Powerstrokers (one person has already expressed interest in changing it because he didn't like the word Powerstrokers) This is only about the word Sooners.

OK, I voted. Since I don't have a problem with it, I did not vote to change it "before I'll become a member." However, if the name is a real sticking
point for cowboy fans, I don't mind a name change.

I have absolutely no interest in college sports, and have never attended a
game (even while a student). However, I understand that some folks
have heartburn about putting something on their truck that might be
misinterpreted as support for OU.

So, I'm neutral on the subject. Whatever gets us to a viable, active
chapter! :thumb:

Maybe i worded it wrong.... Instead of saying "I would like to change it before i join" it should be interpreted as "I don't want to put anything "sooner" on my truck"

Maybe Alan can change that for me.

You guys are missing the bigger picture...

Who cares if WE know what WE mean by it... the average Oklahoman OR out of stater will see SOONER on a truck and "likely assume" it has something to do with the University of Oklahoma... Its about perception - and I think that is where the problem lies...

Well, it seems that some folks are just as set the other way, too.
And for all this trouble, we have only 3 votes to change, and 7
votes to keep it. For the level of participation in the discussion so far,
why jump through hoops? :dunno:

I have seen company's like Sooner Roofing, Sooner Sports and Imports, Sooner Print, .... ect and on their company truck would be pistol pete or the FL gator ...... SOONER IS A OKLAHOMA EARNED TITLE!!!! NOT A FOOTBALL RELATED NAME IN THIS CHAPTER!!!!!! :banghead::soapbox:
