2003 7.3 auto.

I have noticed there hasn't been much power.

Put the Mit-Vac on the turbo actuator and the rod didn't move....actuator holds vacuum.

Is this a VNT like the VW TDI's where it can have sticking vanes? Or is there soot built up elsewhere without having to pull the turbo?

Thanks in advance.

I assume your talking about the wastegate correct? If so no it uses pressure to actuate, at 5 psi it should begin to move, and it should be able to hold 5 psi for 30 seconds and you know its good

you can pull the red line off and hit it with some air from your compressor and it will move.

Thanks for the replies...

These 7.3 turbos (and engines) are somewhat different than the VW TDI's.

Newbie here and want to learn and know more about about the 7.3
