So, I sometimes have to drive short distances (about 2 miles) and then turn off the vehicle for a few hours. Are short trips bad for the truck and if so, what would happen? Thanks.

It's really not good for efficiency and overall engine health on any vehicle to constantly shut off and restart vehicles. It's mainly due to the lubrication not getting to proper operating temps and to all the spaces where it's needed.

I drive mine everyday for work and it runs in short trips (1/2hour) or so. The thing that pi$$es me off is the regen. I will change the oil and within a week it's contaminated with fuel. 7,500 more miles and it's delete....
