Hey guys -

My 7.3 Powerstroke had been rocking along without issue for a while and today my wife calls to say the truck has a check engine light. Ran AE and it came up with P1274, Cylinder #4 High to Low side open, P1298 Injector Driver Module failure. It won't complete CYL contribution tests, it says 'test failed'.
Is this a legit IDM failure? Both the faults hang around after turning it off and back on. I did replaced UVC and glow plugs 2 years ago so they are 'newer'.

What would you recommend for the next steps in troubleshooting? Part of me hopes it's a bad injector so I can upgrade them but how could I rule out the IDM? I do suspect it, it's a NAPA replacement because I turned in my factory good one because of another issue I had.

Thanks in advance!

I've been having issues with my truck for about 3 or 4 mons. now since the SES light came on in late fall. It starts fine, but runs extremely rough and severely under-powered. I got a OBDII Bluetooth adapter for Christmas and installed Torque Pro app and ran a diag. on it. Nothing! I even ran the 3rd most thorough scan, which took about 45 mins. Still "no codes found" Then I got on here a month or two ago, and someone suggested another app. I downloaded and installed it, and whaddaya know, a herd of DTCs. You can go check out some of the replies to my old post and see if there's any comments in there that might shake a possible solution loose. I'm still limping the ol' wounded warrior around for now until I get the extra cash flow to order another IDM.

Here's the link to my post.
