What's up guys, picked up my '15 F350 a few weeks ago for a steal from my buddy's dealership. It is a bit higher mileage (61k) but nothing that would scare me away since it's almost 2 years old now. Everything seemed to be functioning as it should until this weekend. Trailering my gf's car home from a race down in Joliet, Illinois, I went to hit the brake on the freeway to slow down for some traffic and the truck wanted to pull hard right, enough that it made me and everyone else in the truck pucker a bit especially with the trailer attached to the back. Assuming initially that it was one of the trailer brakes locking up, I tested the Trailer Brakes with the TBC and everything slowed down smooth and straight as it should. Within 2-3 miles, the Service AdvanceTrac flashed up on the info screen and the AdvanceTrac and ABS lights. Once the lights kicked on everything acted normal.

Flash forward to a few hours later, stopped, got food, got back out on the road and both lights were off. Cool. Drove a good amount of miles down the road before the lights kicked back on again. It alternated being on and off for the remainder of the trip with the majority of it being on. Once we got home and unloaded the car off the trailer, with no warning lights, as soon as you tapped the brakes, you could feel the ABS pulse kicking on. Then like earlier, the Service screen would pop up.

Thinking it could just be a short in the trailer, unloaded the trailer Sunday and didn't think about it Monday. Drove to work fine, stop and go to downtown and back no big deal. Hopped in it yesterday and as soon as the truck turned on so did the warning screen and lights. So now it seems to be every other day, the lights are on, and if it the brake pedal ABS kicks as soon as you touch the pedal, the lights will flash on within a few minutes. Occasionally the truck will pull hard right on braking and that also will set off the service AdvanceTrac.

I'll be getting underneath the truck after work today to try and track down any loose or unhooked sensor, or obviously chaffed wires, but what are other possible sources of this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Interesting........., last week I was getting some truck parts in palm city FL, about a 7.5 hr ride from me one way. I was pulling a 40ft tandem axle gooseneck. Whole ride there went smooth. Once I loaded the trailer down with about 6k lbs I was on a very sandy hill and had to lock the 4wd in to avoid getting stuck and to get me and the trailer moving. The wheels slipped a little but nothing bad. I got back in the interstate and was cruising no problem for about 5 miles and "ding" the service advancetrac message popped up and my T.C. light and abs light were illuminated. Truck still drove fine even tho it stayed on the rest of the trip. well its been a week and lights r still on and every time i crank the truck up the " service advancetrac message appears. Occasionally it'll cut off and as soon as I touch the brake the pedal will pulsate and the warnings come back on.

what wheels and tires are on it?

Factory 18's with I think stock size BFG's. I think previous owner worked in the mines because when I got the truck off auction I found dust in the oddest of places so I don't know if that could of aided in prematurely wearing the wheels bearings or what

I only ask because Ive seen a lot of wide tires causing pre-mature failures.

Side note... I am more than jealous of your V-wagon... I hope it has served you well.

I wish I knew more about the history of the truck but for the price I snagged it for I was okay with taking. Gamble on service history.

Haha thank you, it's without a doubt my favorite car I've owned which isn't a huge list. Holding out for a manual was undoubtedly the smartest thing I did while shopping for one

Just got my truck back today after having the service advance trac and wrench come in. It was the tcm, I also has a bad harness linking the tcm ($85.00) part....but I finally have my truck back after 3 weeks and am super happy 🙂
