I really hate to ask this questions, I have done a lot of reading but would really like some clarification.

i just got a SF3 and need to know one thing about the stock file.

Everyone says to SAVE the stock file in another place, but are you COPYING the file from the SF3 to make a copy of the file incase something happens? And the original STOCK FILE remains on the unit?

Or are you actually taking the stock file off the SF3 and storing it on my computer? If so when I return my truck to stock, I have to put the stock file back on the SF3?

I really hope this makes sense, but I just want to be doubly sure of what I'm doing.

You are making a copy of the stock file and storing it on your computer in case of a problem. If you lose the stock file from your unit you are able to contac SCT and they can use that file to retrieve your stock programming. Hope that helps.
