well one of my buddies has a 93-94? i think with the turbo diesel engine- wasnt named yet.
but he had his dynoed and he said stock hp was horrible
he said it was so bad that he couldnt tell me?:dunno:
do any of you guys know what the stock hp. on the obs's are?
just curious

uhhh i think on the stock POWERSTROKES 94.5-97, with the 90cc AA code injectors was in the ballpark of 215hp...

If you're talking about the 7.3 IDI, I'm guessing around 180-190

Theres definatly good products out there to help out in the H.P. dept. Be prepared, it gets costly. Start with a couple DYI mods, then work your way up.
Gauges are a must have, before any mod.
Exhaust, 3-3.5 dp, 4"-" out...those stacks gonna look real nice.

FPR Shim
IDM mod
Innercooler
Injectors
17* hpop
Custom tunes
Dont forget about upgrading the trannie. All those horses will reek havoc on a trannie.

IMO, it'd probably be best to talk to Tony if you can get in touch with him....

What tune makes the most power is really gonna be dependant on your truck...
When I first got my chip, I got the street race tune on it but my truck would fall on it's nose for some reason...

You'll just have to pick the tunes you think you'd like and go from there...
Depending on mileage, your HPOP and injectors made need to be replaced to make better ponies.

If I were you I'd get a 4pos chip with:
Econo - to pick up a few extra MPG
Tow - just in case your truck can't handle the race & extreme tunes
Race
Extreme

You could negate one and pick up the smoke tune if ya wanted...


the TW on a stock truck is a major difference...You won't have a NASCAR Truck series truck....but it'll wake it up.

After you get the chip you can go from there as far as modifications like new injectors, stronger HPOP etc.

eh yea I'd go with Chuck on this one....You SERIOUSLY....SERIOUSLY need gauges before ya get a chip....My truck never made it to 1200* with the chip, but if you did then you're gonna have serious issues...as in...new motor lol

If you haven't done your exhaust yet, you need to....the stock downpipe on our trucks kinda looks like an anaconda that got ran over by a train....honestly...

Scratch around here on the forums and find the CCV mod and DIY Tymar intake...I can really hear my turbo schnortin since I've had it on

I agree with Chuck and Bo, Tony's tunes are great to wake up our OBS's. I just got mine back from getting reburned today and man it makes the truck come alive. Do all the other supporting mods and you will be very happy with the results. The next step would definitely be injectors and *17 hpop. These are things i need to start thinking about too.

CCV = Crank Case Vent

Basically, in factory form, you got a doghouse on your DS valve cover that vents the crank case pressure into your intake...

With the CCV mod, you take a piece of 4" pipe to replace the part in your intake that connected it and the valve cover....ya turn the doghouse around and basically run 15-20ft of heater hose off of it down your frame towards the rear of your truck....

It keeps oil out of your intake helps improve air flow a tad bit
