Are the frames the same as 4wd frames?

I intentionally bought a 2wd truck to convert to 4wd. I knew I didn't want the stock ford transfer case and I didn't want a ball joint axle so i am building what I want.


If the spring hangers won't work then I plan to use king coil overs and a link suspension for the front and a link suspension and airbags on the back.

IIRC 2wd are coil sprung and have a crumple zone in the front where the shackle would normally mount.

So i guess the question is, do I rebuild the frame to replace the crumple zone or just link it up.

I had already talked myself into leaf springs, I was hoping to use them.

F250/F350 do NOT have crumple zones. That is an F150/bronco thing

IIRC you will need to box the frame hones like the 4wds had then you can bolt in a RSK

Or use '05 up axles and suspension...
