Guys is there just one eye to refill the axle, and do you remove the old oil by unbolt the cover. Thanks

make sure you replace with the spec'ed weight in synthetic and you may or may not need the LS additive .. if you have chatter when turning you ad some and let me tell you keep it off your clothing and seal the bottle and bag it when done ,, it stinks

if u have the aluminum cover just use RTV silicone the cover has a grove for this

actually RTV will work on the stamped steel cover also just get everything clean.

scoop out the pocket under the ring gear real well it tends to hold some debris

Do you guys know what the foot pounds for the bolts are.

Not off hand, just tighten it in a star pattern I'd say 15 ft lb but on something like that I wouldn't worry about torquing them

ya i just go for tight is right and do a pattern of random sort to get the sealant to disperse evenly

How long are u guys wait for the RVT seal to dry before addi.g your oil

i waited about a 1/2 hour and that is probably a 1/2 hour longer than a mechanic would wait LOL

Thanks guys got it done everthing looked good hopefuly the oil stays cleaner with the Amsoil 75W90 oil.

The oil won't stay any cleaner. Maybe just hold up longer.
And was that the weight rating for the oil from the book?

75-140 syn isn't it

Ya I did a quick search and I think the spec is 75-140, I know the front diff is different something to the tune of 70-90. I don't know what the book says.

Whats the difference between to 75\90 and the 140. I ran the 75\90 in my one ton ram all the time
