Limited slip was an option on the SD's check your axle code on the door-jam sticker and compare to this chart: (my guess is yours is 31)
F-250 / Excursion
3.73 31 - Open Diff C1 - Limited Slip
4.10 32 - Open Diff C2 - Limited Slip
4.30 33 - Open Diff C3 - Limited Slip

F-350 SRW
3.73 41 -Open Diff D1 - Limited Slip
4.10 42 - Open Diff D2 - Limited Slip
4.30 43 - Open Diff D3 - Limited Slip

F-350 DRW
3.73 61 -Open Diff F1 - Limited Slip
4.10 62 -Open Diff F2 - Limited Slip
4.30 63 - Open Diff F3 - Limited Slip

As far as the plug, I have no clue.

Plug is ABS

You probably have LS(limited slip)...they are clutches, and have no electrical parts....your thinking of a electronic locker....you don't have one...

Sounds like the clutches are worn...Ford factory LS SUCKS!!!!

The stock limited slip is a piece of junk, I have one in my truck and it would only spin both tires back when the truck was new!

Now it acts no different than an open diff. only one tire spins.

For a good unit, look into a Detroit Trutrac or a detroit locker: Differentials - Eaton.com
