I have a 99 F-250 SD which has been the best truck i have ever owned. Heres my problem, recently i havently been getting any black smoke from my stock exhaust. I used to get black smoke when i accelerated but now i get almost nothing. Any i deas????

Does your truck have any mods? Is it Stock?

Early 99? Late 99?

Its a early 99 and as far as i know everything is stock no mods yet....

Just a thought but I think it is ULSD. My 03 did the same thing used to smoke lightly on acceleration, Now nothing. Still has its power though. but getting worse mileage since ULSD came to the pumps. I can go to the ranch fill up on the old fuel we have left and it will get better mpg and blow a light plume of black smoke when I get into it. But all the fun is gone when the tank runs dry.

I agree I think it is most likely the new ULSD also if you have no problems besides no black smoke
