Hey guys, I'd go join the cumins forum, but I know you guys, and Itrust your opinions.

My buddy has a 95 dodge ram with the 5.9l cummins. He wants to get injectors, has 6" strait pipe, and a programmer. I know TW and dp are the go to for custom tunes, who are the go to's for the dodge?

Also, my brother just bought an 07 chevy with the duramax, i know PPE are the go to for them, where can I get them?

Also, any sponsors that can cut a good deal on any of the above, feel free to contact me.

I dont think there are tuners for the 95' cummins? I think you just turn the injector pump up and GO!!!!!

as far as chebbys go the ppe is harsh on transmisions. EFI live is the way to go with them.

So just injectors, and turn up the oil? Cool. There a knob or set screw to turn up the pump, or do you buy different pump? 03 ctd, what else would you suggest?

I heard the PPE was the way to go, guess not. EFI live? What kinda results are coming out of those?

EFI live is a good route for the duramaxes, they can control EVERYThing with them, and the user can play with it too. Anyone makin big power on the chevy's are using it.

As for the 5.9L everything is dependent upon what kind of pump you have. Certian ones are better/easier for upgrades. Your first stop would be to find out what model of pump is on it. There all P-pumped but there are different series. Injectors are cheap and he will need a bigger turbo and a new intake plentum. You can really throw minimal money at a 12V and get good reliable power out of them.

You may also need a different fuel cam cut for it, check with several companies on that. I have a custom cut one from Southern Truck Parts and my RAM is a beast and still gets better milage than my Ford.:dunno:

I'd also go with a BANKS Twin Ram Intake, bigger turbo, injectors etc. I'd also put a boost and EGT gauge in, get the "killer dowel pin" done. 4 inch exhaust should be enough. I could barely get my 4 inch down pipe on mine, 6 inch is overkill unless your running over 1000hp.

If it is an auto, I'd also get the trans hopped up or you'll go right through it.

The 95 12V Cummins has the p7100 injection pump. It is a totally mechanical engine, so no programmers to worry about. A good set of Delivery valves, fuel plate and marine 370 injectors and he will have a LOT of fuel going into the motor. Things to consider about this generation Cummins, if you plan on running more then 45psi of boost for long periods of time then he should o-ring and stud the heads. Also the 89-98.5 Cummins have KDP or Killer Dowl Pin. He NEEDS to get that tabbed!

Here is some good reading on that:

1997 Dodge Ram KDP - Diesel Power Magazine

Also things will get hot with all that fuel...he needs a pyro and boost gauge at least.:thumb:

PPE or EFI Live... but the program is only as good as the programmer :thumb:

Also, for the cummins... plenty of people have already answered that.

EFI Live is great for the Duramax, but with that program you will be filling the shoes of a custom tuner. You can buy tunes from other users, but it is truely a complete operating system type option. You will basically remove the factory program from the truck and start fresh. The suggestion that PPE is tuff on transmissions is true, but so are all the others. If you take a stock allison transmission and load it with ANYTHING above 110hp its a ticking bomb. Its not if its gonna crap out, it WHEN is it gonna crap out. With the allison SK Jr shift kit (i think his 07 has the same trans) you can take the hp higher, but you will still not beable to go to the full potential os EFI Live of the Hot+2 tunes from PPE. I think PPE just released a 455FWHP tune for the LBZ (06-07.5 I believe). We sell all of the above mentioned items. If you want to know more feel free to call.

Patrick is that a 455 total or an additional 455 hp to the fw?
