Hello all! I'm back in the powerstroke club again, finally ditched my money pit cummins. I scored a 97 7.3 single cab 2 wheel drive with a service bed for 1,000 with 201,000 on it. I've been drivin the truck for about 2 weeks now and am having some issues.
1- fuel leak on top of motor
I smelt it and can see a puddle under the fuel bowl. I took the cover off and looks like the water in fuel sensor is leaking. Is this common?? Where and what else to check?
2- rough idle
Truck has a rough idle to it. I ran my genesys system on it last night, and it had a cps code in it. Cleared it, still rough. No new code yet though. Any thoughts??
3- intermittent brake light on dash, kills cruise.
The dummie light on dash comes and goes as it pleases, usually when sitting still. It'll kill the cruise going down the highway. Sometimes with the blinker it'll kill it too, and also seems to me like it makes the torque converter dissengauge too.
Other than those their, that's about all I can find wrong with this steal. We put a 6637 mod on it last night, along with 3-1/2 straight pipe too. Plan on ordering gauges for her, and getting either a PHP or Tony wild man for it, and callin her good. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
