Hey everyone, new to the forum.... I have been researching trying to find a way to upgrade the high beam / headlights on my new 2012 F350. the high beams are terrible. I need more light! Everything seems to be very confusing while looking this up??? I would appreciate the help and if it's something you don't want to post on here please pm me...Thanks, Tom.

i would suggest either HID's but they kinda suck in the stock housings and the high beams dont really change the brightness. Your next option would to get a set of offroad lights for the front that you can wire to the upfitter to brighten up the road. they also sell many LED light bars that are pretty expensive but the light output is pretty amazing!

I didn't get the upfitter switches with my truck, how do I wire extra lights to come on with high beams?

It would be a lot easier to just wire a new switch inside the cab or buy the upfitter switches and install them inside and then wire some offroad lights to one of the switches. Actually installing aftermarket lighting that would come on when you hit the high beams is a little more complicated and would required splicing into the exisiting power supply that feeds the headlights and some other wizardry I would think.

I too am having the same issue(along with everyone else) with my headlights being too dim... I had hids on my old truck but don't want to have the same stupid intermittent problems I did with my old hids... I have a couple dually d2s coming on Monday of next week to wire into my upfitters... But I was wondering short of doing projectors if anyone had tried any other solutions such as bulbs that were brighter? Thanks guys...

You can't use any higher wattage bulb...

The 05 up uses the H13 which is quite possibly the stupidest design for a bulb ever foisted on the public. The terminals are so small that they overheat, even at stock wattages, and melt the plastic housing of the connectors. Higher than stock wattage bulbs are offered, but not recommended. There are Chinese connectors that are being used to make these kits and no harness will fix the problem of to small of terminals. As of now no USA made plugs are made that I have seen and wouldn't solve the problem anyway.
