I'm looking at buying a 2000 F-350 Reg cab, SRW w/ 8ft box and I noticed play in the steering wheel while test driving. Not more than an inch off center either direction. Suggestions, anybody??

Is the shifter handle loose too??

If so merely tighten the 2 torq scews under the dash that holds the shifter handle into place, not too difficult to see when you move the shifer back and forth. These screws must hold something else steering wise as it took the play right out of my steering wheel as well.

Thought I was in for a major repair.... Easy

Column shifter handle not loose....

I'm guessing front steering components, most likely ball joints. These are wear items on these vehicles. Thanks for your response.
