I couldn't get my pitman arm off the steering gear box so I am going to have to cut it off. Does anyone know a part number for a pitman arm for a 1997 ford f-250 4x4 with the dana 50? Best place to buy it? Thanks.

A bit of heat and a puller do wonders...

I'm gonna pull the one off the gear box of the 350 I've been parting. Just didn't have the propane torch out with me and I sure as heck am not gonna cut it. Especially if there is no need.

I have heated it up and let it cool about a dozen times, beat it every direction, used pitman arm puller, and pickling fork. A new pitman arm can't be that expensive?

I gotcha. I figured you did, but I just don't like the first idea to be cutting lol. So that is why I said that.

Clean around where it goes on the steering box with brake clean, Pb blaster soaks for a few times over a day or so. Give it a couple wacks periodically. I'll bet it will come off then. Patience, cleaning, pb blaster works wonders on rusted stubborn parts.
