Phone and SYNC buttons not working on steering wheel (2012 F250 6.7)

Appreciate advice if anyone else has experienced problems with the phone and SYNC/speak buttons on the steering wheel? I am unable to link a phone or even have the lady say "Sync...you can etc etc".
Other buttons for cruise control and radio volume etc are unaffected.
I have checked the 2 fuse locations i can find that may have been involved and they are all fine.

At a loss as to what else it may be so appreciate your thoughts.

Regards
Scott

Had similar issues on my 2011 Lincoln MKS. Disconnected the battery. Left it sit for a hour or so. Reconnected the battery and all was well.

Cheers Niteman9 i'll try that next.
Most issues with Sync are usually resolved by disconnecting the batteries for a few hours like @Niteman9 said. I've had a few issues with mine and that fixed it every time. Hopefully it'll work for you, too!

I've had my 2012 F250 Lariat for 3 years. It's an import into Australia, converted to RHD by Harrison F Trucks.
Recently the control for the telephone on the CD stacker/radio stopped working. At the same time the 3 steering wheel controls "Voice"; telephone & "OK" all stopped working. (Note the other steering wheel controls Seek; Volume and Media are all still working fine.)

Of course this means i can't even open the menu for Bluetooth. It's like SYNC and its associated functions have just disappeared from the menu.

After reading as many Forums & watching Youtube clips as i could I have been unable to diagnose the issue or hear about another example like mine.
So i tried:
(1) Pull out the SYNC fuse & replace - NO IMPACT
(2) Disconnect both batteries, drain any residual power by turning headlights on, reconnect batteries - NO IMPACT
(3) Remove the steering wheel control and check connection / wires - ALL LOOKS OK AND I ASSUME IT'S NOT THE CONTROL PACK AS THE OTHER BUTTONS FOR SEEK, VOLUME AND MEDIA CONTINUE TO WORK FINE
(4) Assume (without having removed the steering wheel) that the clockspring is ok? - ASSUMPTIONS BASED ON FACT SEEK, VOLUME, MEDIA, CRUISE CONTROL AND 'ARROWS' ALL WORK FINE.

What else can be checked by a novice (me) ?
Can SYNC just die and if it does, whats the part that needs to be replaced?
Appreciate any advice as we are very short of knowledgeable people to work on our F Trucks here in Aussie.
Many thanks.

I had a similar problem, and it ended up being a failure in the control module in the steering wheel. I replaced the entire piece (really easy) and it worked like a charm. I bought my off Rockauto.com.

It looks like they sell the exact one you need (Motocraft SW6772):

Thanks Henry 5105, I had discounted the thought the steering wheel module was the problem because the other controls were still working however if you experienced the same issue i'll spend the cash and see how i go. Many thanks for the reply.
Cheers

Sorry, i had one more question. With your issue was the "telephone" switch on the radio working or was it also non functional? Cheers

My issue was with the volume and seek buttons not working. I think the other buttons on the module were working fine.

Just to close this out, i purchased a new module but still not working.

You ever get yours fixed? Mine just stopped working out of nowhere. Haven't tried diagnosing yet. 2016 f250. Same controls and radio as yours.
When my 2012 had this issue I had to install a SYNC update from Ford. Copy it to a thumb drive then install in the truck, which was a pain. Took a few tries to get the truck to read the drive. My truck had touch screen and had a USB port though...
