Hi all,

Ford e-450 2003 7.3l

I have change my brake pad on my parking brake monted on my transmission. I have change the brake pad, speedo gear, and the seal on transmission side. When i put it all togheter without tihtning the main bolt i can turn by hand the drum, but when i thingten the bolt at 215 ftlb i can't turn it by and anymore. I have not put oil in it before trying to turn by hand.

I have not change the bearing because it was good shape and i dont want to change the shim.

Can it be turned by hand after the brake was rebult ?

I finaly find it by myself, i mount the bearing spacer before the bearing and he goind after. Now it turn by hand easy.

i don't know of anyone with the same setup so we were not ignoring you just not familiar with the trans brake

Never had to pull mine apart in the 8 years I had mine. Usually the bearings went before the brake which by time it was caught it was destroyed.

We have annual inspection for big truck here, the parking was not working. I have look for a new assembly, but was 3700$ CAD at stealership. I order new part on ebay to rebuilt it. When i remove the assembly i see some oil leak on transmission side, so i change this seal to, with brake pad. I will take more picture next time when a disassembled something
