Hello,
I bought and imported(*) a 2001 F350 7.3 PSD and I'm a bit confused about how the "overdrive off" button is working in this truck, because I've driven a rented 2007 to 2009 (not sure) E350 C-class RV with the same button and in a way it worked different.
What happens with the truck in overdrive off mode is:
* it shifts up until 3rd, which is normal, but when driving downhill and when I push the brakes, it never shifts down into 2nd or 1st gear when slowing down. To compare: the RV I've been driving did shift down in the same circumstance.
* when driving in 1st or 2nd gear and I take my foot off the gas pedal, the rpms drop down like it shifts up into 3rd, while the RV did stay at the same rpms, so it stayed in the same gear.
Is there a problem with the F350 tranny or is it normal that the 2001 F350 and 2009 E350 don't work alike? Or is it simply because of the age and/or engine difference?
I also made a short test drive with a 2000 F250 and it seemed (not sure anymore) like this one shifted like the RV did... :dunno:
Thanks for the info,
Mark
ps Is there a way to reset the transmission?
